I miss The weekly dose of Dave Despain and wind tunnel. I loved the fact he covered all the motor sports indiscriminately. And loved it all. They screwed up got rid of speed tv.
This network is how I got into endurance racing. Their coverage of Le Mans was AWESOME. Their F1 crew was the best. I got to see Australian V8 Super Cars, Barrett Jackson, Isle of Man TT, AMA Super Bike, BTCC, ETCC....it was great Motorsports coverage
I remember years ago when Dave was president of the AMA. Everyone that I knew that rode way back then was happy because there was finally someone representing bikes and racing that had knowledge, was an active journalist and some personality. Damn, I miss it this year.
and the sanctioning bodies of American Motorsports wonder why it is dieing on the vine .. we have little background & history via media any longer .. an effort has to be made educate new Motorsports lovers ... Speed channel is sorely missed :-(
I am not into motorsports but I probably would have been if I had watched this show. This episode was very entertaining. It's a shame that this show had to end before it could reach the 600 episode mark. 😔
It still pisses me off that Fox sports got rid of speed. Hell even if they put made FS1 and turned Speed into like an FS2 type station, made it a subscription, it would have sucked but I miss speed so much!!
OPINION Their will never be a network devoted solely to motorsports....FOX bought this....the speed channel as it was called.....now Game Sports dominate it's Air time an motorsports gradually fade away to a low % of air time ...If the World of Motorsports had only known.....they never would of sold this outstanding channel .. to the competition that were an are....Oh My....what a Sad,Sad ending.....

This was a huge part of my childhood! Watching wind tunnel every Sunday night at 9pm after Nascar victory lane on speed! 😢😢

Now most of those events you mentioned with the exception of F1 are on Motor Trend Network which is in a way the spiritual successor to SPEED

It’s 2024 now. Still miss this show. In my mind, it was the number one motorsports show ever broadcast.
