  • Big Ambitions continues and we finally get round to doing the decorating in Big B's Boutique and Big B's Bouquets! Hurrah! Granted it takes a bit of loan money but that's fine, we can afford it.
    The boutique looks fabulous with it's properly completed floors and Bouquets looks amazing with a very vibrant colour scheme! We throw in quite a lot of neon too, just to finish the look, a look that Bernard is indeed very proud of.
    However they're not the only two stores that we have decorated because... we pay for someone to decorate Big B's Bobs&Braids! Granted it's not the same building we purchased last time because that was MASSIVE, this is a smaller location, but my goodness it looks tremendous. Such vibrant colours!
    Now all we need to do is get enough employees into Big B's Bobs&Braids, stock it with products and open up! If only it were that easy...

    Your bank balance is tiny, but your ambitions are big.
    With a little help from your uncle, you get an apartment and your first job. But then it's up to you to achieve success and take over New York City any way you like.
    Slowly build multiple small businesses, grow them into huge corporations, or carve your own unique path - the possibilities are limitless in this vast business sandbox. You've never played anything like this!
    Go from a small apartment and public transport to luxury suites, fast cars and designer furniture. Put your money into investment funds and real estate. Succeed, fail, rebuild. But remember to take care of yourself, sleep and stay happy on your rise to the top.
    Go from nothing to the most prominent tycoon in New York. Start a business, work smart, make it thrive and enjoy your life. How do you want to be successful? How far can you push it? How long can you make it last?
    Start your own gift shop, supermarket, coffee shop, law firm, clothing store, liquor store, florist, and more. You decide what success is - whether it’s a single shop, a chain of fast-food restaurants, a huge corporation, or making millions developing websites.
    Take out a loan, rent a building, design the logo, renovate the store, get stock, manage your money, hire staff, and build your infrastructure. Soon, you may have to start importing products from the harbour and distributing them through a network of warehouses.
    A bigger business means managers. Hire HR Managers, Logistics Managers, and Purchasing Agents. They all need desks and computers, so you’ll need a fancy headquarters.
    Need a delivery truck? Travel to a dealer and buy one. Need food? Go to a supermarket, but make sure you have a refrigerator at home. Big Ambitions is a life sim where your character has to physically interact with the world to survive and succeed.
    Enter any building in New York and buy it. Go from a small apartment to a dream penthouse in midtown, a luxurious townhouse in Hell’s Kitchen, or a series of skyscrapers. Fill each with furniture that suits your style and standing. Invest your hard-earned cash in real estate to grow your empire. Take over the city piece by piece.
    Spend your wealth however you wish. Buy a big SUV, a speedy sports car, or the new luxurious Mersaidi S500. Maybe risk it all at the casinos or put your money into investment funds and reap the rewards.
    As you progress, you always need to ensure you get enough sleep and stay healthy and happy. Enjoy the journey, for as you grow older, you’ll discover that money can’t buy you time... or can it?

    You should deliver atleast 2000 paper bags to the hairdresser since it has 2 cash registers.
    With only 1000 in stock you could end up with only 1 register having all of them and the other be empty, they can hold 1000 each.
    And the hairdresser don't need a security guard.
    You're gonna want a speaker in there tho.
    And yes, that 116K item in Luxconsept is a speaker. You could afford that gaming rig tho, it's not that expencive.

    The price at Big B's Billboards was fine, the bottleneck is capacity, you're already at max customers.
    Only way to increase profit is to hire a 2nd shift

      @@TheGeekCupboard You could extend the opening hrs and get more customers in through the day, 8am to 8pm split into 2 shifts, also do the same with the lawyers.
      The building limit is how many you can have at a time, once the morning shift leave you can get in 8 more (they can share desks).
      Also, the rest of your businesses could pay more if you extend the opening hrs.

    PS: I'd also love to see you play "Shapez2". I can hear you say, "Ohh...I'm terrible at these kinds of games", but wait...you can totally take your time - there's no timer - now that IS your kind of game, right? 😃

    Penge, I know you're not min-maxing this, but I think it's a mistake not to use the big store for a Hairdresser. Yes, you have to hire a lot of people (roughly 30 people per shift, with 2 shifts) and install a lot of equipment (15 chairs, 8 head wash and 4 cash registers). But hairdressers are one of the best earners in the game right now, and the really big stores are basically money printers.
    The good news is that having just one large hairdressing salon will launch you firmly into the mid game. You might need to take out a loan, but you'll be able to pay it back very quickly. The bad news is that Big Ambitions doesn't really have a good mid-game right now. Honestly, I'd just set a goal like reaching a position on the rival board (I usually try to become #1), or have a certain amount of cash in investments. You could try knocking out a rival, but that's a huge grind.
    BTW, I find that aside from lawyers, offices generally don't make a lot of money. It's fine if you want to just mess around, but if you want to actually make money from offices, Law firms are the only practical way to go. I expect there will be a lot of rebalancing later on to make the other types of offices worth using, but for now that's how it is.

    • @DonGorgen
      @DonGorgen Před měsícem +1

      That big store would have been awsome for a electronics store, I find those to be great money printers aswell.
      Quite expencive to fill the shelves with goods, but once it's all in the money will be rolling in fast

    • @TheGeekCupboard
      @TheGeekCupboard  Před měsícem +1

      Honestly, I just wanted someone else to set up that store. Imagine if we'd have had to individually install 15 chairs and 8 head wash things and 4 cash registers and shelves for products and everything else, we'd have been there for ages! It just seemed easier to get a smaller store and get someone else to do it.
      I think what I'm discovering is that there's a lot less RPG in the game at the moment and it's all just business stuff, fiddling about with numbers and settings and things, which I'm not overly into. Hence todays video where I just did lots of decorating because that's more fun that amending delivery schedules!

    • @PrinceofTurov1
      @PrinceofTurov1 Před měsícem +1

      Personally, my favourite part is decorating and designing the shops.i see the money as a necessary evil to be able to afford more fun flooring and potted plants!!! 🪴

      @@DonGorgen I saw a series of videos where a CZcamsr tested out all the different store types in the same M1 location (Midtown). The Electronics store was indeed a cash machine, earning over $260,000 per day. That edged out the Clothing store ($218K) and Book store ($213K). But the Hairdresser still came in at #1, making over $400K per day. Those numbers will change with demand, and what prices you're chargng, but broadly speaking the most profitable thing you can put into an M1 sized shop right now is a hairdresser. I fully expect some patch to balance things out a bit more in the future, but for now that's how it is.
      BTW, it's worth mentioning that the worst sales in an M1 sized store was the Gift Shop, at $83K profit per day. Which means you can put anything in a store that size and make good profits, it's just that some stores make amazing profits.

    • @rodh1404
      @rodh1404 Před měsícem

      @@TheGeekCupboard Agreed. I find Big Ambitions is more Spreadsheets, the game than Sims at the moment. It's why I find the midgame so much of a grind.
      Good blueprints for M1 sized Hairdressers do exist though. You'll find them in the blueprints, which you can access from the menu. The one I like is Fox-SalonM1, although check the counters (cash registers) because last time I checked they were backwards. All the blueprints are very costly, the Fox version is one of the cheapest and it's more than $700K. But a good M1 sized hairdresser will easily make over $100K per day so it will pay for itself in about a week of game time. I've seen one make over $400K per day, although I haven't been able to make that much myself.

    can you assign a purchasing agent to go to the warehouse where you go to buy bags, and all the other things? it might be marked up more, but you could save on salaries if you can buy more things in one place/
