@@GreedyRadish That's not what he was saying. His assumption was that if you had to run too far around to get the P-switch it would despawn, leaving only those few block on the far right as the possible switch-holders.

Here's a tip: take a 3 second inhale, hold it for 3 seconds, and then exhale over 3 seconds. You have just gained knowledge of an advanced Navy Seal breathing technique! :D
crazy how high quality this video is even though it's just the newest entry in a long ongoing series. I'm constantly impressed that content on this channel seems to only be improving over time. This is mostly an Al Gore rhythm comment, but between Simple being able to show off his insane level of knowledge and game sense, plus the great editing that's contributed to an obviously unique channel identity, I feel it's all genuinely worthy of high praise.

"In the Halls of the Usurper" is a reference to a level (also a remix of a Shovel Knight song) in a rhythm game called Just Shapes and Beats. The boss is a crown and staff just like the thumbnail. I would imagine you play the song as soon as you start the level and it lines up.
Also Just Shapes and Beats is a great game that everyone who likes rhythm games should play
In the halls of the usurper, that's the track name for the castle stage in Shovel Knight.

Turning that first trolly level into a learning experience was so brilliant honestly
That hard read and solve of the first level was a true 200 IQ play only the likes of Simple could pull off, and I loved it. Also, that OST to Kirby's Epic Yarn slaps much harder than I remember! Really good tunes! Makes me nostalgic for the Nintendo Channel playthrough of it. Dunno if it is, but I really hope it (along with DKC's) has been archived to YT or elsewhere. Like classic chuggaconroy, those were my childhood playthroughs I'd watch of games I didn't own yet, and it'd be a shame for them to have not been saved in any sort of capacity somewhere online in a time when Nintendo Channel is only a memory of the past, just as the likes of ScrewAttack! or GameTrailers.
The way the plants sync up to the music at 21:40 is nuts

Kind of a hot take I guess but the level that starts around 17:11 is called In the Halls of the Usurper which is the name of a song from a Shovel Knight level called Pridemoor Keep. The level actually has some aesthetic similarities with Shovel Knight level and I think the reason it had no music was because the intention was to play the level while listening to that song. Crystal Caves from Ms. Pac-Man was actually a better choice, seeing as it's an auto-scroll water level and Halls of the Usurper is too hectic for that. Both osts are fucking fire though definitely worth checking out.

The music in the water level made what should have been stressful super chill instead.
16:36 I like how the level creator put all those fire flowers at the end after the fake fire flower ending and Simpleflips just ran for the end when he saw it and randomly got the fire flower from the ending slots - just like the level creator wanted... It's like a prediction, except not, the creator was just being silly, lol.
I got the poltergeist type-G in LM3 today and it was really difficult and tedious.It was a really great game and I hope you play LM3 and have a great time as I had with it.

That underwater autoscroll level seems to be a recreation (or an attempt) of the Just Shapes & Beats level 'In the Halls of the Usurper', which by itself is a crossover with Shovel Knight. So this is just a big mess of games at this point.
If we assume that Simple, on average, has played 20 hours of Mario Maker per week for about four years, he would have over 4000 hours across both MM1 and MM2.
Truly a dedicated entertainer he is.

I don't have any grandmas, but I DO know how to identify some solid Uncleared levels. Even if the video was short, you were able to showcase a nice handful of levels this time and that's cool. Sorry you had to drive to Tesco before the real level begins, hope that goes better when the project occurs and you can drive to tesco without water or blocks in the way.

1:33- actually, idk how smm2 works, but in smm1 a p switch spawning from a ? block is considered global and won't despawn when offscreened. In fact, it's also considered global ground, and even local sprites won't be despawned as long as they're touching a p switch that came from a ? block. That being said I don't know if the same is true for smm2

Goddamn, that first one was actually pure genius at work.
That first level could have been *so* much more diabolical if the creator had the same logic bomb as you. All you have to do is put gaps between the ? blocks, roughly a screen away from each other, and then you wouldn't be able to sus out that the P-Switch *has* to be at the edge.
