A first hand account of lgd's would be a asset for all. Nice to see dog's that are NOT watered down. Wouldn't mind having one of those pup's myself. There is next to nothing about the diet of these dogs. Do they eat with you or have their own stuff?? What does a meal generally consist of??
Cooked rise and some meet. 3 to 1 proportion. And till 1 year age keep it very thin. Do not be afraid that will not grow full size. Think that in real environment these dogs are starving often. Keeping them fat under 1 year age can produce bone disease.

Some shepherd dogs should coming with defects, anatomical or instinctual/behavioral, just like humans. Here enters, or should enter the selection ... in case of dogs. But a typical, high quality shepherd dog never endangers your kids, more over, the highest quality shepherd dogs never endanger any kid, meanwhile they are tough fighters and guardians when it comes to adults, especially men. The best shepherd dogs can make precise distinction among kids, women and men. From absolute harmless toward kids, an accentuated tolerance toward women, and real toughness toward men. Believe me: it is amazing to experience in life this "flexibility". Of course for this you need a top quality shepherd dog. Not easy to find, because the modern breeding routine mishandles the ancient originated real shepherd dogs. The selection many time proves to be contra selection. But this is an other story.
kinomad I understand as it can happen with domestic animals, the temperament is unpredictable also with mix animals. Was it too cautious? Too aggressive? Or just didnt learn fast?
