Hello anglers. I've only been beach casting for a few months but I'm finally starting to get some proper distance on my casts. The only problem is I've begun to start snapping my main line a lot when I'm casting now that I'm generating more power and I'm wondering what the best solution is. I've been using 20lb braid with a 4Oz sinker. Can anyone give me some advice on whether I should be using a stronger main line or if I should have a longer leader line?
Jordan H i had same issue before, ive got 58lbs j braid if not mistaken and shock leader of 80lbs mono twice the length of the rod and a couple of turns still snaps. what i did, just remove the shock leader and straight through braid with 5-7oz sinker, btw the way i dont do pendulum casting. But on the other reel, 20lbs mono main line and 80lbs leader, twice the length and couple of turns ive got no problem. Im using 13ft rod btw.
