- Living in Sweden as an American can be tricky, as the Swedish way is often quite far from the way things would be done in the US. In this video we take you along during one of our ordinary days at our house in Sweden, and vlogging as we do everyday life. Cooking, shopping, household chores and just general life. What small things can be found that are both better and worse with living in the Swedish countryside, compared with a big city in America. Tag along and don't forget to say hi in the comments. We are so glad and grateful that all of you decided to watch this video, and follow along our life!

A little about us 🇺🇲🇸🇪
Morgan is from the USA and Will is originally from Sweden. We met while working together in Germany in 2018 and have ever since tried to find a place to call home. In January of 2022 Morgan finally received a positive decision on her residency application in Sweden, so for now we know where we will call home. We look forward to share with you the challenges and differences between our cultures, and how it works when they meet in our relationship. We very much love each other, but do we love everything about where we are from? Is Sweden as good as everyone says, and is America more than all of its stereotypes?

I love butter, Norwegian brown cheese, different type of jams honey and ice cream is also very tasty on waffles 🧇 🍦🍯😋❤❤
Got to love the waffle and ice cream combo! Will say the Norwegian brown cheese is delicious, but haven’t tried it 🌱
My favorite jam to have on waffles is "Drottningsylt" or Queens jam, it's AMAZING! It's raspberry and blueberry and it's heaven in a jar
I (Will) haven’t showed Morgan that one yet, guess I have to go down to the local ICA and get a jar for future waffle mornings 😍
@@MorganandWill Haha yes please do! I hope she'll enjoy it 😍
We will let you know after the tasting 👏🏻👏🏻
@@MorganandWill Amazing! Keep up the great work guys🙏
You guys are such a great team, you guys have great structure. Love learning from you guys. Def would love some how to vids(food prep, wellness, what I eat in a days)
Have some new segments in the pipeline regarding cooking and wellness so hopefully you’ll like that! Have a look on Thursday 🌿🤍
Yo yo yo! I'm glad to watch another one of those! Glad Valborg (was last night, but I love it so it still lingers ;) ).
We have 3 trash bins below our sink - for paper, plastic and for organic matters and stuff.
We also have to drive to our nearest town to go to ICA. It is a day's adventure and we do it once every few days.
You guys probably can't relate, but I used to live in a small small apartment 50sqm with my hubby and baby and cat and the kitchen there was almost non-existing. So to have a big kitchen counter and space in my kitchen is just a luxury... and I have an island and 2 counters so I am in heaven (kitchen space-wise) .
Love ya all! Greetings from the north... it's still cold, but the snow is melting now, so spring is coming soon! 🦌🌲🔥
Hey you!
How lovely - we went to our local Valborg celebration as well, auch a beut bonfire! Spring is slowly coming to life here as well and we can’t wait to spend more time in the garden 🌱 small kitchen and apartment, trust us, we can relate and we are so grateful for our big kitchen and house. All the space to feel inspired and creative in the kitchen and with interior design! Sending you sunny vibes 🌻
So enjoyable! More food prep videos please, everything looks yummy! Currently watching from rainy Sunday America, on a very lazy/unmotivated day. Love fruit preserves on waffles and pancakes but that's Swedish heritage for ya, LOL. I was just to IKEA and grabbed some cloudberry, yum! Glad to see a video pop up from you guys, also Will cracks me up with the car door, for future reference take photos as you take things apart so you can put it back the same, LOL Best to you both, stay well and safe!
Actually gonna start a new segment about what we eat/make at home, so hopefully you’ll enjoy that 🤍 waffles and fruit preserves are dope!! He usually does, just don’t think being a mechanic is something he was made to be/do. Take care and pop by the channel on Thursday to see our new food segment 🥰
So exiting that you are growing veggies!!
Just the beginning, hoping to start a vegetable garden this summer 🪴
Hej from an old Scotswoman living in Jamtland. Really love the Fleeetwood Mac sweater...I grew up listening to them. Tusk...:) If you want to make vanilla sugar it's super easy. In a jar put one or two vanilla pods (they sell them here in slim glass "test tubes") into the jar and top up with sugar. Leave for three months plus and you'll have a supply of vanilla sugar and the pods last for ages, so just keep adding sugar as you use it up. Wishing we had your weather...here it's still cold overnight (minus five, groan) and there are still clumps of snow everywhere.
Thank you!! That sounds amazing, need to try it!
What is your main intake/substitute of proteins and calcium?
A lot of our calcium intake comes from collard greens, spinach, kale, cabbage, broccoli, Brusselsprouts etc. When it comes to protein it’s a mix each day. Some days we are more leaning on lentils, legumes, chickpeas and beans, while others we eat tofu, seitan, tempeh. Others are focused on the grains as quinoa and brown rice. Funny enough a cup of green peas has more protein in it that a cup of milk for example. So its alla about balance and finding your way to a healthy life. We feel super healthy and if you want to know more about our vegan lifestyle you should keep an eye out for our new series, starting on Thursday 🌿
Here in Stockholm they have begun requiring us to put our food waste in a separate bag. Which kind of means it takes forever to fill the ordinary trash can! No bigger can needed!
AFAIK you can get cloudberry jam in the US, but it's very expensive. Even more rare and expensive is Arctic Bramble jam, but that's kind of rare here too.
Regarding gas, nearly every major oil field in the world is now in decline, so I don't think gas will ever get cheaper anywhere. Here in Europe I think the prices are currently affected by the war in Ukraine, though.
Lastly, vanilla and vanillin have kind of a complicated relationship. The reason why the vanilla plant tastes like vanilla is that it contains vanillin. But when it comes from the vanilla plant it's called vanilla and when it's made in artificial way it's called vanillin. But it's literally the same thing. You can tell the difference between vanilla sugar and vanillin sugar by looking for the tiny black grains that are in vanilla sugar, they come from the vanilla plant, and since vanillin sugar doesn't come from vanilla plants it doesn't have them.
Always a pleasure reading your insightful comments. Nuggets of knowledge. Going to have to importan cloudberry to the US and thank you for the vanilla explanation. Have a good week 🤍
