This is the silliest things I have ever heard and I love it. Sounds so much like it would've been a 70s/80s children's TV programme - I'm picturing a couple of pasty blokes standing around in spangly capes and DIY hats exclaiming over someone's bike spray-painted silver, maybe with a magpie hand puppet sidekick... but I just looked it up and it first aired in 2000! 😂

This was so deeply satisfying on so many aesthetic and visual levels, but it was also a phenomenal lesson in the odd little tricks cameras play with light! That gorgeous gold shadow in the final two seems, on camera, much duller and almost gritty in a way that the JD Glow Good Gawd just didn't - maybe it's the warm vs. cool colors, or the darker base and color shift - and it's just interesting to see!!

During my no buy year, I was looking for ways to make my collection more interesting so I did a challenge to find the deepest black in my collection. I recently came across the three pages of notes I took on this challenge. The main take-away I had was that none of the high-end expensive shadows (Pat McGrath, Melt) could hold a candle to the blackest black (an Inglot single). Yet, I still reach for the less impactful blacks because of usability. So the fillers that make a powdered shadow blendable and easy to use, can make it less impactful.
I totally agree that the blackest black isn't necessarily the one you'll always want to reach for! ABH Noir was my only black single for a long time, but it's such an intense, rich black that it can sometimes be hard to work with. I finally broke down and got a black Colourpop single and I love having both! They both serve completely different purposes in my collection. 👌🖤
@@BelleStreetBoyz Yes, my colorpop black is a fave as is a charlotte tilbury black that really borders on charcoal gray.

This really made my magpie heart race! In my collection the sparkliest shadows are definitely the Devinah sugar drops, it looks like hundreds tiny fairies dancing on your skin ✨

Hey Hannah. Just found your channel recently and have been binge watching your content. I saw your eyeshadow single declutter and organization recently. It really inspired me to make my own palettes from palettes that were not inspiring me anymore. I have created a little palette that looks kind of like charlotte tilbury's pillow talk and em cosmetics divine skies had a baby. I also created something comparable to Natasha denona's gold palette. I can't wait to use them. I had been letting some palettes sit for a very long time and I'm excited to bring new life into them.

Powder shadows usually cannot compare to cream and liquid shadows. If you want shiny stila glitters and glow and other glittery liquid shadows are the only ones that can compete with it. And also its a paler shade than all the rest of the powder ones lol. But now my interest is piqued on the danessa myricks cream shadow. Man im crazy for shiny shadows. I wonder what would happen if you put good gawd on a glitter primer or if you foiled it that would be so stunning.

Just a heads up, theyre not all made the same even though they’re in the same category when it comes to jd glows galaxy shadows and also some of their metallons are as gorgeous shiny buttery as their good galaxy shadows

ACD5 is definitely one of my shiniest items. I'd say the tammy tanuka larger mica pigments are just as shiny when applied wet, I have the shade darling that i pressed and it's truly mirror-like.

Love this video! I've just compared the Good Gawd in my collection to the Touch in Sol Metallist shadow in Aurora Taupe and its pretty much as shiny I think! The urban decay moondust shadows in Moonspoon & Diamond Dog hold up pretty well too, maybe even more sparkly than the JD Glow

That was fun but all the time but I feel that being the DM eyeshadow an liquid eyeshadow, which is essentially an eyeshadow that applies wet, the only way you can fairly compare other eyeshadows to it, it's if you apply them wet as well.
My two shiniest eyeshadows are ladybird by colourpop (super shock shadow) and Blue Diamond from Lunar Beauty's Strawberry Dream palette.

My JD Glow shadows are my shiniest singles. But I think I have a couple of Pat McGrath shadows that are as shiny, if not shinier. None are as shiny as Hourglass scattered lights glitter. Especially if its on TOP of a Roen cream (what I've worn the last 2 days). The main difference seems to be (taking Hourglass out because its actual glitter) that the Pat shadows I can wear in any fashion or way or combination (especially over Roen as well) without aging my lids. My two shiniest JD Glow singles (one is Good God, another is an actual silver from Galaxy) can really age my 43 year old lids. But I'm going to try the silver with the gray from Roen 11:11 today and see if that grounds it in a non-aging way.

Could I have predicted the winner? As a diehard JD Glow GG lover, maybe. But I enjoyed this soooooo much. I also just recently got Adept ACD5 and I really need to put it all over my eyes.
I think that Cozette's "Infinite Crystal" shadows are extraordinary & beautifully shiny, too...The particles aren't nearly as large as those in Danessa's, but if you apply them sheerly (esp. the lighter shades), they have that diffused, wet looking, particulate shine. If you apply them more densely/layered, they look foiled/metallic shiny. It's the 1st pressed shadow I've found that appears to have the particles in a clear base...

@@HannahLouisePostonOf the shades I've tried, my personal favorites are Platinum & Halite. Platinum is more a cooler-toned, grungy champagne, than silver. While Halite is a lovely taupey-rose gold mix.
I also have Amethyst, a cool-toned, deep shocking purple, & Herkimer, a mid-toned pewter w/gold reflects. Amethyst is striking, w/beautiful shine & texture, but has a different, more opaque formula than the lighter shades. Herkimer is the only shade I regret...I usually love silvers & pewters, but while it has warmer reflects, the base has a mid-opacity (between the lighter & darker shades), w/a very blue tinge to the silver. I just don't find it v.flattering on its own; though it does look beautiful layered over something dark, esp. black, & deep brown, blues, & greens.
While all of the shades are objectively beautiful, IMO the lighter shades are truly unique. I think you'd really enjoy trying the formula someday. I will definitely pick-up more of the lighter, & perhaps a few of the deeper, jewel-toned shades. I must say though, ordering them is quite frustrating, b/c there are very few swatches of the shadows available. If I'd seen accurate swatches, I would have chosen differently.
My shiniest "eyeshadow" is the Nars powerchrome loose eye pigment in "shock em", it looks exactly like glitters but it's not (you can crush the particules)
