The vocalist, Alissa White-Gluz is actually from Canada. She used to be the vocalist from the Agonist, a band similar to Jinjer with growls and clean vocals. If you check out their earlier stuff, you can hear Alissa's clean vocals- they are great! The Agonist has Vicky Psarakis now, and shes good too. I miss Alissa in that band but after seing Arch Enemy in concert earlier this year, I was hooked! Most people hate on Alissa because they perfer Angela Gossow, the former vocalist of Arch Enemy. She is their manager now and the one that wanted Alissa to replace her!

Swedish band but their previous singer Angela Gossow was German. She stepped down a few years ago and now manages the band and picked her replacement, Alissa White-Gluz from Canada. The second guitarist in Arch Enemy now is the guitar god Jeff Loomis from Wisconsin, formerly of bands Sanctuary and Nevermore. Nevermore was an amazing band too, the death of their singer Warrel Dane last year was a great loss to the metal community. He had such a unique singing voice.

"Is melodic death metal new?" Answer: the first 'melodic' death metal album I can think of is "Heartwork" by the British death metal band Carcass in 1993. Previously their music was extreme gory death metal, like the band Cannibal Corpse with medical degrees, and an instrumental style I have best heard described as "wet noise". Heartwork brought in Swedish guitarist Michael Amott (also a founder of Arch Enemy, he is the guitarist with red hair in this video) and toned down the gore while massively improving the songwriting. The Swedish version as far as I know was kicked off by the band At the Gates on their 'Slaughter of the Soul' album in 1995. The style became very big around the city of Gothenburg, Sweden in the late 1990s and there are many examples of the Gothenburg sound in bands like In Flames, Dark Tranquility and of course Archenemy.

I watch a lot of reaction channels and subscribe to the ones of which I genuinely like the person or people doing the reaction and in this case I like Jay's enthusiasm to share something that he grew up with and Kay's eagerness to learn and expand on it. Y'all are among my favourite duos on YT, right up there with Sistah and Wolf (HalfLife Sistah) and Vin & Sori as well as two channels of father's sharing with there sons, TheNobodies and A&P Reacts from my country, Canada where it's hockey season all year. Go Jets Go! 🏒 You should give them subs if you haven't already.

Dude who suggested this threw you into the blender kind of sort of could think of more pure Death Metal songs they have but it's her deep voice her low lows. Good arena metal gets the crowd pumped and chanting always she has the perfect blend of singing / growling aka Fry Screaming safe screaming good technique to know for going to any show yourself really won't wake up with soar voice then.

Y'all gotta watch This Is Spinal Tap and do a review of it. Actually, y'all should do a monthly movie review, mostly cheesy ones with excellent soundtracks. Flash Gordon's soundtrack was done by the legendary Queen as was the original Highlander movie (Princes Of The Universe should be on your Watch Later List) and AC/DC did the Who Made Who album as the soundtrack to Stephen King's Maximum Overdrive. Heavy Metal: The Movie has another classic soundtrack. I'm sure your other subscribers have suggestions for rocking movies too.
