Paul Pierce on Escaping Death and Becoming The Truth

- Paul Pierce's journey is something out of a movie. In September, 2000, Pierce was stabbed 11 times in a nightclub and came millimeters away from dying. He nearly became the third Celtics forward in less than 20 years to tragically die. Not only did Pierce survive, he became one of the greatest Celtics of all time.
In this week's episode, Pierce takes us through his journey returning to the court a month after the stabbing incident. In the 2000/01 season, Pierce played all 82 games and was coined "The Truth" by Shaquille O'Neal after dropping 42 points on the Lakers. Following his breakout 2001 campaign, Pierce leveled up in 2002, earning his first All-Star selection and bringing the Celtics just two games away from the NBA Finals.

mannn forever one of the smoothest games to me .. Paul and Toine really were two of the first wings I wanted to play like .. I took pieces from them both .. I remember yall teams from 2000-2002 .. solid teams with Erick Williams , Kenny Anderson , Tony Battie… Paul and Toine really set the tone for how a lot of SF/PFs play now.. grateful to have been able to watch yall as a young one

U look at all time stats and Wade isn’t even close to the Truth, Wade was injured a lot and missed lots of games, give me the guy that’s plays 82 games after being stabbed almost to death, wades knees would hurt an missed a lot of games
If Paul Pierce did nothing wrong and was just brutally attacked over jealously behind some woman, then I do consider him a civilian, who was the victim of a heinous act. Now if Paul Pierce instigated the situation, provoked, escalated the drama, or played a significant role, that led to the conflict and physical violence then you lose your status as a civilian and you don't get to tell the cops anything. Don't play big dog status, then turn into a poodle after you get dealt with. That's about as fair as I can be to both sides involved.
