- In this tutorial, I'm going to show you how to put together a cinematic superhero animation in Blender with free resources. I'll teach you to use the non-linear animation feature, to retime and extend animation, how to use video clips as scene lighting, plus loads more pro tips! And if you hang on to the end, I'll show you how I added to the scene to create something even more awesome!

GREAT. Sometimes simple is really powerful. This one is really inspirational due to a few of the tricks you used here.
I don't know why I did not realize you can just ALSO plug the video's flame COLOUR value in as an EMISSION at the same time and actually light the scene with it. Perfect!
I work on many film shoots and the fog thing is ubiquitous so adding the volume fog is a must for the "cinematic" look.
Thanks Craig! Really interesting to hear your point of view from the film shoot side of things! Another interesting point, is that if you just plug the video into the emission socket (and not the colour), it respects the transparency of the footage - ie. black is transparent. Super useful if you've got a fire or flames!

i don't have a tilda on my key board and my computer can't render high quality scenes (especially if there are a lot of complex lighting) but i am enjoying these tutorials. each one helps me learn so much for my other projects this one alone helped me with making simple explosions, i also tried to add some buildings in the foreground to add some more depth

Hi! Try looking in Blender Preferences - search add-ons, and enable the import images as planes addon.

Yes - you usually zoom in and out with the scroll button.
On your final render, did you leave your "Max Sample Rate" at 32 samples?
Yes I did. I let denoising do it's thing, and I also use K Cycles which I really like - should be a link in the description.

After completing my animation is not rendering it just show black screen (why) and how I fix this ??
Try rendering with CPU - it could be a memory error? Make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date.

sir ..i m facing a problem ..i completed but i want to render with google colab ...but explosion video not packing in to export as blend file ..i tried with one image it is packed to blend file ..but video not packed to blend file ....please give me some solution (don't tell me to convert video file into image sequence because i tried it not packed ..single image is packing but not image sequence )??

I finished the tutorial but my PC crashed, the animation stopped rendering at frame 12 so I decided to render it as an image, when I get a powerful Laptop I will render the animation but Thanks for the tutorial
Try rendering as an image sequence, that way, if you crash, you haven't lost everything! Once the sequence of images has finished, you can use the Blender video editor to export as an MP4 file.

at 3:46 when i try to do the repeat by 8 everytime it repeats it just goes back to the begininning
Did you type in 8 where it says repeat in the Action Clip settings? Pause the video at 3:38, and copy the settings to the right of the timeline.

Probably you didn't choose "in place" option before downloading your character.
What is the blender version
Think this was Blender 3.1 - you can see in the bottom right corner.
how would I go about making the video longer?
Add different camera angles. Start with an establishing shot. Close up of main character. Etc. Hope that helps!

8 hours to render an camera animation
Sounds like a long time! Try reducing the resolution or sample count to increase the speed, or delete the volume fog. Hope that helps!
