    Both teams played pretty good
    Parents ruin the game lol not every contact is a foul or card
    The straight red was a bit much, a yellow wouldve been fine

      No if you look in slow mo you can see(it’s hard Bc of camera angle) she throws the elbow towards the face

      She throws a blatant elbow to the face. Thats a straight red, I just would not have given a yellow to the other player.

      I agree with you up to the last sentence. In real time it doesn't look like much (especially because the angle of the camera isn't all that good on this play), but there was an elbow thrown towards the green players head, and it looked more cocked than not, so straight red there is for violent conduct.

      @ClergetMusic Před rokem

      @@notfounder285 difficult to see with the camera angle. I agree, even the attempt to strike an opponent like that is violent conduct and is a sending off.

      Well, the standard set forth in the LOTG is “careless, reckless, or with excessive force.” If in the opinion of the referee, the challenge does not meet those criteria, it is not a foul. This also means that even if a player “gets the ball,” with a challenge that is “careless, reckless, or with excessive force,” it IS a foul.

    That should have been a straight red card to the turf at 9:24. Pure carnage.

    imp green's defensive was pretty good but the rest of the team was not doing it. they couldn't really get the ball up the field because they werent using their teammates. same with white on the offense. white's mid was doing pretty damn well. they were able to get the ball back, turn it, look for one of their forwards, and be able to get the ball to them.

      I’m late to this but the white player threw an elbow into the green player’s head. The green player responded by shoving her. The white player was sent off for violent conduct, and the green player got a yellow for retaliation. You can’t see it because of the camera angle.

    I love the Karen in the background, "They collided, it's normal...". Clearly they didn't see the girl in white throw the elbow purposefully into the green players neck area. Straight red is the right call here.

    This is a bit late but I coach high school girls and the hardest thing to do is to coach smart physicality. Both sides are playing physical, but not in a violent way. Constant whistles for contact is the single easiest way to hinder development. When shoulder to shoulder contact is called a "foul" you start getting really slow, all around poor play, and then at the college level where the referees are much better about calling real fouls and not contact, the girls are punished because the ones that come from areas with good refereeing are making contact while the ones who had refs like these are not going to be as physical. The red, I do think that's probably better as a yellow. I can see it's an elbow kind of towards the head in a way that makes the Hilltop player react, but I don't think it was deliberate enough to justify a straight red, especially when there's not been another card all game. It's more of a defense mechanism as the player had already won the ball and the green was barreling towards her still. A yellow for both was probably the right call, however I think the ref was starting to think they were losing control of the game (more because they're calling contact than the actual level of aggression on the pitch). It's not an unjustifiable red, but it definitely was harsh.
    On another note, both teams played absolutely brilliantly, I wish that my team would play more like this!

    • @ClergetMusic
      @ClergetMusic Před rokem

      If I was officiating, most of those wouldn’t have been called. There weren’t many actual fouls in this video. However, I DID miss the elbow to the face that earned the sending off. On the field, I would NOT have missed it, so the angle these videos provide is not always ideal for judging the calls on the field. It also seems like the two officials have different ideas of what constitutes a foul, at least at the detailed level.
