2020 was the last year they were selling new 124s in the US. Love my '17 Classica. Purchased it partially hoping it's short family branch off the long, loved Miata heritage would increase its value later. Mopar, Japanese, Italian mash-up

Hopefully they will go up in value like the Honda S2000 did. I currently own a 2017 Abarth Spider (I rarely drive it; only on dates and summer weekend nights). I love that car and I'm glad I got it. I don't really see many of them on the used car market (mostly the standard Fiat version). So I think there is a good chance it may go up in value in the next 10 years or so.

I think it will. I have an 18 Auto Abarth Spider with Nav, Bose, Heritage+Visibility Pack with only 9k miles and as new. I've the carbon roof also ordered. Car is only driven at weekend and under roof. I expect it will be collectors item within few years. It gets more attention than a Porsche.

Just put a deposit down on one - don't expect to keep it long enough for it to appreciate, but it shouldn't lose too much due to rarity/desirability is my hope.
On another note @stef_abtv, I would seriously consider getting a harness for Rolo, to attach the seatbelt strap to rather than his collar, as it could cause neck issues if you have a crash/emergency stop.

1st car Owned a tangerine 76 fiat x1/9 bertone Abarth in 1994. For $1,200 Love at first sight!
Got a dodge dart in 2014 because.... Fiat. Loved that car!
Wanted to go electric in 2019.. so I got a 500e and loved it! (I did miss the engine and tailpipe action!)
This american has lived fiats since she was a kid.BIt doesn't matter if it's fast, there's mods for that. I know it'll be worth more in the future (can't find any X1/9's that don't have rust damage and I've been looking for the past 15 years.)
They're so much fun to drive!

I think the price curve on the Abarth 124 will be more Honda S2000 or BMW M Roadster, and less Miata or early Boxster. They've never been common enough to be a "throw away" car.
Fairly low production numbers, and despite being reliable, efficient, and well-mannered day to day, it's still a fairly raw sports car and offers an experience most cars don't. Not to mention they look and sound excellent.

l couldnt agree more, 124 Abarths her in Australia are holding value well. Most 124 spiders here were well optioned l paid $45,000 in april 2017 for my car which was a good deal at the time. Similar cars are selling now if you can find one for around $35,000. Not bad as most cars here drop around %50 in value after 4 years.

Love your content, love the car, but I can't help being a pedant as pronunciation is so important to me. People take what they hear as gospel on CZcams and may think Bosay is how you pronounce Bose. It isn't. Take the "ay" off it's just Bose as in hose or rose. Amar Bose founded the business in the early 60's I believe.
Don't even get me started on AbarTH😉
Sorry, can't help myself but I cringe whenever you say it on your vids. Once again, and more importantly, love what you do👍

@Stef AB Money isnt all, i enjoy my 2016 F124 Spider Lusso as a daily the whole year. Keep it propper maintained and you have the fun of your life. Sure its nice to see it go up in value but my fear is that all are gone, hidden in some garage under tarp. So i drive my daily. Close to the 50oookm. It seems many people dont even know about that car. Im "personalising" my car by now. Did made a very crued video about the beginning. Dont judge me, i`m german with an japanese car, disguised as an italian car. What can go wrong?
Best of luck to you and your dog.

Trying to predict future car values is a complete gamble. Whereas predicting that taxes will rise a lot once the 2030 all electric law comes in is basically certain. Look at Norway, the reason most of their new cars sold are electric is because taxes have forced people into EVs because they’re cheaper. Over there the Taycan is the cheapest Porsche you can buy by quite a margin. That will have to happen over here as well, the government want people in EVs and the only way they can do that is making them cheaper.
I say people should just enjoy the shit out of our internal combustion cars while we still can and stop hiding them away in garages worrying about investments

Besides the obvious meat and potatoes Chrysler lineup, including all badges and subdivisions of the Mopar bloodline, Stellantis now has a grip on Fiat, Maserati, and Alfa Romeo, and those were not over produced. Also, with the supposed shutdown of SRT laboratory, people can finally branch out from drag race type power, for more circuit-type dialing, which is better on gas, and may prevent them being swallowed by sudden escape from driving talent, like the burnout machines can do too easily, with the immense structure and block weight involved. By stopping production, they can make new moves, hopefully stop with parts inventoried to keep the purchased ones rolling, and initiate the law of supply and demand, so dealerships have a chance of making profit, also. The gradual, electric vehicle curtain is ever so slowly creeping up like some manufactured eclipse of that nice space in human history where we got off horses and commuted in explosion processor powered living rooms, of all different styles and purposes.
So get a reverse jet engine and combustion engine hybrid with a manual or automated paddle shifter transmissions, while they make street legal golf carts...mandatory.
