This video features a whispered ramble about my day, some goodies for a subscriber, and my countertops. While we ramble, I'll try a banana cream pie-flavored fried pie and some Voortman's Summer Berry sugar wafers. I hope you enjoy it! :)

My husband's grandmother from SC does the "you've put on weight, you look good." thing. It was explained to me later that she grew up poor and it was more of a "you've been living well" sort of comment.

I'm glad your reunion was good fun for you Mary!! I would love to see a video on all the things that go into planning your reunions and what kind of things you do? My Mom's side has had quite a few deaths in the family the last 5 years and we haven't really been getting together, when we used to all the time 😔 I would love to put something together for everyone but want to go above and beyond just a plain bbq or something of that nature

It's not catered. It's pot luck. Everybody just brings something. People don't typically cater things like this.

When you said if you sat down and got comfortable you would crash I felt that! I work 12 hour shifts and for about 10 of those 12 hours I’ll be on my feet and when I sit down at the end of my shift I never want to get back up...
Food Lion is just Foodline. Haha our main grocery store here is Giant Eagle. We always say it like one word and omit the “T” in Giant. Everyone kind of just says “Gineagle”.

The Lemon Voortman wafers are my moms favorite. They are hard to find at my local grocery. They sell quickly.

Mary insisted my own backlash...marble herringbone patterned tile. I did all but the cutting of the tile my husband did that on a tile saw. You should do it yourself (although I hate doing myself)

It's pretty awesome. I have two family reunions per year - one for my mom's family and one for my dad's family. Every year, we have anywhere from 50 to 200 people at each reunion.
