Replacing our RV Mattress: Purple vs. Brooklyn Bedding

We switched out ours and tried both Purple and Brooklyn Bedding.
See how it went!
Purple was about $1400 + tax for a California King (see how we cut it down to fit)
Brooklyn Bedding was $1600 + tax for an RV King
Now THIS is an honest mattress review. I appreciate this and appreciate you guys. First time here btw, we were searching reviews to get an honest comparison with the Purple vs. anything else, particularly Brooklyn Bedding since so many RVers promote them.

I have a luxury firm king size winkbed in my rv. It’s 14 inches tall and fits perfectly so I can look out the window when I’m laying down. And it’s amazing.
Such a great suggestion. I know that factory mattresses aren't that good.👍
Ugh not the ending I was hoping for. Was between the BB or wilderness for our rv. And we also have had a purple we love at home for 6 yrs. We don't full time either and back n forth between the 2 won't be fun. I really don't want to cut a purple though. Esp since we need 70x80 so 2 directions not just 1

We are looking at doing the same for our rv, which purple mattress did you cut, we looked at a hybrid 4 today
Ours is just the original. We still love it!
What does the purple weigh?
When you have to travel what do you do with the mattress since it doesn’t fold?
We push the bottoms of the mattress up and place a footstool under it( to keep the end up in the air a bit) so that when our slide shuts, it doesn’t push against the mattress.
Do you recall which Aurora you tried? I’m curious about whether it was firm, medium or soft. Thank you!

Quick question...luv the information ..trying to find the right mattress for us before vacation...My husband and I need a softer mattress for our back issues...What density would you consider this one??
The Brooklyn was a "medium" comfort and the Purple isn't firm or soft, it just kind of cradles you. You don't sink into it like foam, it's just supportive without being firm. Wish I could describe it better, but we love it. It supports all of our pressure points and helps my fibromyalgia and Drew's arthritis.
@@FaHoLo_RV_Life Thank-you...My son ordered one and loves it also...but he did go for the hybrid..and a 4"...and has the same issues we do with our backs....He says "Mom...it's an investment..YOU NEED THIS MATTRESS"..LOL..we do...
If you have a big sandy near you they now carry purple so you can go try all versions. We have nothing but purple and I was thinking about doing this exact same thing.
@@goodolGingerbeard Exactly what we did...I LOVE IT...hubby isn't as sold...but we only had a couple trips in it b4 the end of the season...I loved it immediately!!
Which specific purple mattress did you cut and put in your coach.
It was a California king, regular purple. Not the hybrid.
Can this fold for slide out? We have queen slide out and it needs to fold.
It doesn’t fold, per se, but when we’re closing the slides, we place an ottoman under the end which pushes it up enough to where it’s not pressing against the dresser on the opposing slide
How are you liking the new mattress vs the purple?
The Brooklyn was nice but we actually like the purple much better. We can’t even feel the other person move which is good because I move around a lot in my sleep! I also don’t roll into Drew in the middle of the night like I did with the Brooklyn, because he is heavier & would settle a little deeper into the mattress).
We have a Purple Mattress now and we need to replace our RV mattress as well. We are selling everything and going to go full time. We love our Purple now, but what about weight for the RV, it is very heavy. Were you still able to use the storage underneath the bed because of the weight of the mattress?
Yes it is heavy so it takes both us us to lift the bed/storage door but it is definitely worth it, especially now that we’re full time. You’re gonna love the freedom of full time! It’s scary at first, taking that leap, but exciting. Happy for you!
