All folks from the WestCoast got family roots in the South and is about three generations from coming from the South lol.
Yup, I’m from L.A. by way of Alabama
@@apocalipsdoebermen8376 Georgia native (East Point) but I got family in Los Angeles (Crenshaw).
Yup, all my peoples moved from Shreveport Louisiana to Southeast San Diego in the early 70’s.
Exactly
Most of them from Texas and Louisiana this why they called it South Central Los Angels. Alot of Creoles migrated to California to escape the racism and find jobs.
The acting in Snowfall was way better than BMF in my opinion..
Better than any show on starz period not just bmf
You right because mainly it’s a young punk playing the main character.
Duh 2 different style shows
Way better!
@@mrdanbino7498 it’s literally the same thing lmao tf u talking about
One just does it 1000 times better and bring realism to it but the styles are the same
And the timeline is basically the same too 80s/early 90s
Uncle Jerome did as good of a job as any actor could’ve in that role to me
Old boy hating. I lived in Pomona for years & Jerome seemed like a West Coast dude. It wuz shocking 2 me when I found out the actor wuz from NY.
@@MrTacarlosthat’s just like on Power, Cat that plays Uncle Marvin is really from Cali
@ MrTacarlos ,Real shit my homie straight hating
@@cjbrown420Malcom Mays, who plays Uncle Lou is from L.A. just like London Brown (Uncle Marvin). Malcom (Lou-Lou) is from Baldwin Village aka The Jungles. His Uncle is Stanley "Tookie" Williams.
Thats why he hating. @MrTacarlos
Jerome was believable period
Uncle Jerome was my favorite character
One thing Uncle Jerome had right was the damn Jheri Curl!
Every time curl was drippin
Shut up
First off, everybody didn't gang bang in the streets , you had some dope dealers and snowfall was about that in the 80s
You can tell by the change in his mood he was talking about snowfall and when said unk was a country boy he changed his stance . Bro gave him context .
Jerome did come from Texas in snowfall
That’s most blacks in La n Comp town
Everybody in Compton knows someone just like Uncle Jerome real talk.
had 2 older cousins, they were brothers. They both were barbers when I was a kid.
Now they both over 60yo, one is bald, the other still rocking the suga free pony tail and still hittn them weights
You have to remember those old school uncles during that time were the last ones raised by big momma nem…who was from the south. Old southern ways and mannerisms.
THIS.
The Uncle Jerome role was portrayed very well. I was living off Crenshaw & Jefferson during the 1980s-1990s. Jerome reminded me of a FEW men I knew around that time. My homeboy Dad and one of my cousins jump out the quickest
He said he wasn’t moving like a Crip…
Snowfall was like advertisement for Dickies and ben davis.
Teach ya man how to squabble 💯🔥✊🏾💪🏾🤙🏾
Pure Cali attitude and lingo
Snowfall is on ANOTHER level. Authentic to the west coast or not
Dude a hater😂
Definitely
I feel the same way
He's living in a fantasy. West Coast? Just say San Diego or Bay Area. Ain't no West Coast way of dressing up. Cali had on Timbs just like NY had in Addidas or Pumas or Converse
@@jaykaynum5569 bro 😂niggaz be too biased, talkin crazy
@@jaykaynum5569Cali def has it’s own look. Probably the most unique at that. Niggas ain’t wearing no tims back in the day tho
So what if Uncle Jerome was from Texas in the story line? Raymond Washington was from Texas originally and tookie williams was from Louisiana. 2 founding members of the crips in L.A.
Raymond Washington isn’t from Texas. His family is from Texas and moved to LA before Raymond was born
Well in actuality Louie the character was from Baton Rouge Louisiana
@@7th_Colton Raymonf was from H Town
FACTS
Turtle from Santana block/blocc crips was originally from Texas look him up
Uncle Jerome reminded me of my uncle’s coming up 😂😂
Me growing up in Philly i always looked at LA as a magical place. Just going off seeing movies tv and rappers out there. I always wanted to go there. Finally went when I was 25. And it didnt disappoint. Been back 4x. I love LA. Now ive also lived in NY. Theres no place like Philly and NY. They are home. But LA is my home in my fantasy.
I’m from Long Beach, born in Compton and My baby mama is from Philly. Her brothers tough than mfka. I always say the best boxers in the world come from Philadelphia
@@wejuggernautentertainmentl3156 - Its tough do anywhere you go!
@@1300mikehoward never said it wasn’t. Im From the worst city in America trust me I know
That’s me I promise you I’m from Indiana and ppl always say I got Cali influences I swear just by the way I dress easily loom like I live in Compton or Watts 😂 but that’s just been me since a jit
That shit is beautiful asf. I’m from Brooklyn 1st time I went to LA I fell in love with that shit
3:37 There was definitely K Swiss in Snowfall
Leon wore the k Swiss with the Levi's at the skating rink
Damn, they took me back with this one. Sergio Tacchinis and Ellesse! Lol! I remember Diadora and BKs were hitting too for a minute.
And don't get me started on croaker sacs and Coasters! Lol!
I remember the Cross colors clothes and L.A Gear boots too. I had the suede black and gray ones in the 8th grade.
And shit those who were considered ballers wore BALLY Shoes with the silk shirts and cross cords,BAY AREA pre 89 earthquake days 😉
@@kevinhill1572When cross colors
clothing came out is when i
started to notice
Hoovers wearing Orange
when diadoras 1st came out i had the 1st pair in my hood..my granny sent them from new jersey to south carolina for me. love u Granny..miss u so much
Uncle Jerome was my favorite character... and Leon!!!
Snow fall was on point
Jerome was cold blooded baby!!!!💯🥷💯
When I moved to 45th St. ( four-five) south east San Diego back in 1984 right down the street from Bay Vista. The dip. Mostly everybody was wearing coasters and I came from the East Coast with a fresh pair of red and black pumas with the speckled shoelaces. Everybody wanted to be my friend.
We wore fila’s TI sweat suits etc.. yeah I was born in the 60’s raised in the 70’s-80’s in Inglewood. This conversation took me back 😂.
If you was wearing chucks back then you was a gang banger.
Them shitz hurt my feet..I could never.
@@richardgibson4757💯Same here
Who cares smh
You care. You watch the content and even clicked the comment. Goofy.
@SNEAKYBOYT_ 😂🤣🐒too fkn funny pimp.👍
Jerome was a lot better then the lead actor.
No, Damson Idris was the best part of the show.
Hell yeah..late 70s Early all my uncles was from the south livin I’m LA
Ain't no West Coast wardrobe no more

Snow Fall is one of the Best ever made. Duplicated the street on TV!
SNOWFALL 🔥🔥🔥🔥 DUDE HATIN
I still got a pair of Swiss... ppl always trip when I wear them. They not the all whites, they grey denim & white stripes & I'm not from Cali 😂
Definitely gon see sum Swiss💯
Ellese, British Knights, Fila, Fat Lace Adidas/Pumas, Nike Cortez, Reebok Classic,
Teach your boy how to squabble😂
West Coast wasn’t rocking them Bally’s in the 80’s?…..
Most people forgot or dont know WC was born in Texas aswell..
I was born in 1980, I am 43, I grew up in Northern Cali, I wore them K-Swiss. You are not lying on the shoes. K-Swiss, Jordans, Filas. There was also Nike Cortez that the hardcore mexicans usually wore.
I think the first pair of k-swiss i seen on a brotha was a dude fron Cali in 87. Of course the tennis kids all wore em
K-Swiss, British Knights, Fila, Diadora, Ballys, Ellesse, Adidas, and Nike Cortez, and Jordans
Jerome played that part to the T and he was never a Crip in the show. Rome killed that role...so tuff there cant be another Jerome ...he is sealed it.
That show he didn’t think was West Coast accurate, but didn’t want to name was Clearly Snowfall 😂
😂 the tim boot comment dude made was funny as hell he was being real
Eiht that hoodie raw... I got the red one 😂
The character was inspired by Anthony "Daff" Moseley, the late husband of former Queenpin Jameker Thompson.
Do you think Louie’s character was supposed to be to be Jameker? Jus wondering
@apocalipsdoebermen8376 If you analyzed and are familiar with the story, documentary, and series. You'd know Snowfall was setting Louie up for something big. For example, when jermerker and her mother were evicted from home in South Central, she always wanted money and have her own. With many trials, tribulations through poverty led her to the game. Like louie, who was introduced as a scrappy ride or die girl of Jerome with dreams and goals finding another way out and sharing the same entrepreneur spirit like jermerker expanding her empire. Even when times get hard, she never folds. She can hold her own, she got her own, and remains LOYAL
Was teddy based on Oliver north?
@SMOOTHCUTPRODUCTION In the docuseries. "Here's how the crack epidemic brought the city to its knees." Based on The War of Drugs, the US began selling arms to Iran, with Israel being the middlemen. USA military aide Oliver North devises the Iran-Contra Plan. For example, Teddy entered the season as a CIA agent diverting money sale of drugs in LA to fund Nicaragun Contra rebel in Central America in an effort to stifle the communist Nicaragun government. Analyzed the second season began with President Regan on March 16th, 1988, and the address and threats the USA posed by the Nicaragun government Soviets Union support to topple democracy in South America. Proposing $100 million dollar aid packages from U.S. Nicaraguan "freedom fighters." With the scene cutting to Teddy watching Reagan address the Congress for $600 million in 1983 to prevent the Soviet Union from gaining more control in the region.
Oliver North devises the Iran-Contra Plan in the War of Drugs. By the U.S. Government with Reagan in office
Cross Cords, snake skin belts (color affiliated), MCM jump suits, Turkish ropes…
They did an exceptional job but none of it is believable if you actually from the LAND 😂
Damn... he said ellesse...had me couple pair of dem...

No doubt! We all Black!!
Right
Not to knock WC or any others but you had actual real members from out of different areas of SoKaL involved on the back scenes not allowing them to water it down
Texas and California has long ties it’s crazy
He reminded me of my ogs and Im in the midwest 😂
Slick, you was living here in Texas in the late 80's.
Eiht is my O.G. I agree with what he said. Can't ride through Daygo without listen to my man Mitchy - Imperial. Big ups to the West!
the great migration after the civil war, then another when factories went up in the north some went west for similar living of the south and space.
WC was also used as a consultant on the set of Fresh Prince 4 current @ the time lingo.
Leon was the active one of the group though and he was the only one really wearing the chucks
Snowfall is the best series ever!!! Followed by Power
Look I'm from the D and my BY is 73 yall on point ❤
They had the Nike Cortez on and the Addis stan Smiths on, ont know wether thats West Coast or not but
i know Franklin definitelyhad those on
Too short was very much street affiliated MC8 need to do his homework
Lol if I remember correctly Jerome's character was from Texas not cali.
Snowfall was good, but there were some missteps. I noticed a lot of them banger extras had locks. You really did not see that out west in the 1980's. Curls, braids & fades. That's what it was. Locks were really just for rastaa back then. Nowadays, I'd say the last 15, 20 years it's become way more prevalent. Just an observation.
I totally get where he's coming from though. Out of towners will love it because they match it with the stereotypical image. But locals know better because it's the little things that mean the most.
The same WC that use to snatch fools outta Nissan trucks?
When Wc snatch someone outta a Nissan truck?
I know JD from lynch mob said that tho
This what irks my nerves particularly with Cali and New York, with the eraser of your Southern roots there so many prominent figures especially in Cali that haves familiar ties in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas etc. Let’s name a few OG Turtle, Tookie Williams, Huey Newton, Fillmore Slim, Ward Connerly. Your roots be from the south but some of y’all be acting like it’s an issue being from the South. I’m glad unk corrected dude, and no disrespect to California natives that have been in the land for 5-7 generations, but the essence of what some of y’all are is from the south
I disagree somewhat but just like you said all our roots are from the south. My grandparents on both sides are from Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Mitchy Slick was just pointing out the character Uncle Jerome didn't come across authentic enough in his opinion. He didn't even know dudes character was from TX until Steele told him. He thought he was from NY.
I put snow fall over bmf and power. It was more realistic. Power be a lil too over the top for me. Know damn well feds would’ve tracked those cell phones as much as they be using them lol
K swiss was was a thing in Washington DC Back in the 80's
Rayan shirts, guess pants. Duckies, Nike Cortez, snake skin belts, etc..
I still where k Swiss 49+ years
Man, all y’all look alike
Jerome from Farrock
Franklin had the K Swiss on
Uncle Jerome wore Nike Cortez for most of the show
Yea, Jerome and Franklin's mom are from Texas. Jerome said he moved to Oakland to get his mind right. Since he couldnt do it in Texas.
Then Jerome said he wasnt with all the hippy movement stuff. So he moved to L.A. and got a job at the Crystler plant. Then told his sister Franklin's mom to come to L.A.
Yes we get you 8
Only dude in snowfall I feel they could've did a better job with was Leon. I did not believe him much at all. He was too soft, I understand they started off as squares but bro could've had a little bit more of a streetness to him but u could kinda still tell he wasn't a gangsta.
OG turtle born in Louisiana moved to Houston then Cali and became one of the hardest Crip niccas out there lol most of Cali folks have ties with Texas so if his character was from Tx then that was accurate AF do just flat out hating 😂
Tookie was from Louisiana. The Bay was majority of the south. We got a different energy down south so it makes sense. How they became leaders..
K Swiss lol preppy white boys wore those in the south in the early 90s.
Not true lol. Not in Arkansas. There were some Crip shoes. Those shoes would get you pressed.
Jerome was the best had big hard and was no push over
Real directors
Cross cords and 3 button silk shirts from the swap meet off them filas wit a snake belt....80s
In the Bay Area niggas was rockin’ Lotto’s, BK’s, Filas, Travel Foxes, Saucony’s, Diadora’s, Troops. Snowfall just didn’t show the OG 1st wave of drug dealers that dressed like Marvin on Rasing Kanan with the full length leather coats, Golden Child leather hats, track suits zipped all the way up and all that shit!
Gangbangers back then wore Nike Cortez, karate shoes, I filas And combat boots Actually this was the early 80s 83 so it was during breaking when they wore Filas Adidas sweatsuits Levi’s and stuff like that.
N thats how u know it was based on freeway
Snowfall is my favorite TV series every cast member deserves they flowers now no shade to 50 when it comes to his shows he trying to put everyone in his series but they can't act like Lala Neyo I don't even know the chick with the golds in her mouth name 2 chains they don't fit but I get he trying to put ppl on but that can mess up your series
lol 😂 what are they talking about….None of y’all are originally from the West Coast…Y’all derived from black people from Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas etc moving to California to escape Jim Crow….it’s funny that some of these guys believe that they just popped up out of thin air in California…When it’s Native American and Mexican territory
Black ppl are the natives along with some of the red natives they like to say are the only natives. We aint come here on sail boats and ships didn't exist in the 1600s and the original so called mexicans were dark skin and blacks been were established in LA since the 1930s amd a black man founded Los Angeles
But west coast niggas got our own style regardless of where our grandparents came from. That's exactly why we don't sound like the rest of yall.
California is completely different from the rest of the country. Our grandparents and great grandparents is from the south, but we don't know nothin about that. Just like how we talk completely different from yall, we been had our own shit Goin on out here.
Facts. Southern Migration to California was real
I had an uncle that talked and act just like Jerome.
Westcoast baby
2pac wore Timberlands
Did anybody have on Crocasacks!?😂😂😂
80’s going to the 90’s it was plenty chucks and Cortez, British Knights, Adidas, and Filas. Chucks been on since the ixties. I never wore British Knights or KSwiss. If you know you know…The hustlers wore that other stuff. Dressing like OG Ray Ray Dewitt.
When I got to L.A. dudes were in Cortez's
Wish snowfall was more west coast. Idk maybe during that time the show was more accurate but even the cars seemed basic to what you expect.
Eiht made Awax his own. In the original script of Menac II Society, Awax was nothing like how he was on screen. So glad Eiht made that role his own.
Is that Mitchy Slick with Eiht?
Yea
