Do not hesitate, it was, is and will continue to be the best vampire series in history
Can't believe that this was written for a TV show. The scene where they play it is a great scene but this just elevates it to amazing.
Can you imagine what if Joss Whedon hired Robert Duncan instead of Danny Elfman to do the score for Justice League?
@@keelychow4569 oh I'd have shit my pants.
"From now on, every girl in the world who might be a slayer, will be a slayer. Every girl who could have the power, will have the power. Can stand up, will stand up." Such a tingly-Buffy-giving-a-speech moment
The ball player knew sge was gonna knock it out of the park.. the abused girl stood tall saying no more.. Yeah.. goosebumps. Every girl should grow up knowing they can have that power. By leaning on each other for every trial they face.
Buffy Season 7 FInale Commentary, Joss Whedon on Spike/Buffy final scene:
"I told Sarah and James, "love him when you say you love him. Love her when you say she doesn't love you.""
Buffy had a lot of great instrumental tracks, but this one is the best by a longshot. It perfectly captures every single theme and moment in the final scenes of the series. And when the soft version of the main Buffy theme plays at the end...the feels, man. This finale had me cheering and crying throughout the entire thing.
When the Scoobies are all standing at the edge of what once was Sunnydale, Faith indirectly tells Buffy that she's finally free to live her life. As that instrumental music plays as Buffy realises that she and Faith are both free, that moment will always be a tearjerker. We love you Joss Whedon!
elladeefan i just wish spike had gone and found her once he was able to leave LA and that they’d had their love together - even if it was a one of episode of angel s5 and then her and the scoobies come back for that final fight at the end... that would have made the endings just perfect...
@@holi117 omg totally agree! That would have just been a utterly perfect ending
@@holi117 I feel like the ending of angel for the most part WAS utterly perfect. With Buffy being a show about coming of age, ending the show on the note of imminent and endless potential was perfect. Whereas Angel is a show about adulthood and fighting every day to make your own. Ending it on the note that there is no grand fanale, that the fight never stops until you die (as some of them do) the "let's go to work" followed by a semi confident and triumphant *clang* of swords was honestly a moment that gave me chills.
@@64raptor oh yeah, for the most part its great! I understanding and love the metaphors and the open ended “ending” of both shows. BUT i’m the type of fan who just always wants more when it comes to that universe! And it was a shame s5 of angel ended up having to be so rushed, leaving lots of plots feeling half-assed and incomplete (to me).
@@holi117 yeah unfortunately that happened to a lot of Joss Whedon shows. Even season 7 of Buffy is super rushed and lack luster compared to literally every other season imo. And after Buffy, everything that happened during making of angel season 4 killed both 4 and 5 though I'll argue 5 actually feels like a good season just the last 4ish episodes are like "woah woah woah hold on this was not expected". Then firefly straight up got canceled despite nobody wanting it canceled. It's probably the only show without a rushed final season cause lmao it doesn't have a final season. It barely has a first season. And dollhouse was cancelled mid season 2 and they gave him the rest of that season to try and wrap up his story. It's honestly heartbreaking how he never really caught a break after Buffy until avengers. Even though all of his story ideas were gold. He's done some unsavory things but the guy is undeniably talented and I will never not be a fan of his work from the 90s era. After avengers it got a little weird though. Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff should not be talking like Buffy that shit was weird. Only one who should be making quips is Tony.
Nothing about Buffy gets old. 😍 i grew up with buff, i loved and i always will love Buffy. who's still watching Buffy in 2017?
Vero Loves Lexa Me! Just finished it yet again with another friend. Like the quadrillionth time 😂 Buffy and Angel must watches each and every year :)
Vero Loves Lexa I am. It will always be the best tv show ever
Introduced my housemates to it at university, we are now on season 5. Well when i say we, i am at the end of season 5 and they are at the beginning. What does a computer scientist with the social range of a teaspoon do, Watch buffy!!!
Vero Loves Lexa still in 2018 now!!
2018 and I make sure I watch it at least once a year. I missed it on TV so I bought it. Best money I ever spent.
if anyone needs I'll be in 1997-2003
Alright
heh
heh
Also 2004!! All time favorite episode of Angel and all time favorite Spike quote came from that year!!
wich one!?
"I want you to.....GET OUT OF MY FACE!!!!!"
***** actually it took me a while too :P haha when i notice "Holy crap! i can't believe i missed that hahah"
Yes. Now do we suspect there might be some kind of conection between Buffy's face and that line?
+Lamounier Soares yea but do we now think that there may be a connection between Ben and Glory???
+Lamounier Soares Is everyone here very stoned?
+Luke O'Quinn What about Ben and Glory? They are clearly two very different people. How can they be connected?
This song bring me in tears. THE BEST TV SERIES EVER.
One of the most epic scores to one of the most inspiring, Beautiful, Sensational, Epic, Phenomenal, Breathtaking, emotional, Satisying, Bodiacious, Badass, Awesometacular, Wonderful, Exhilerating, Spiritual, Mindblowing, Unfathomably brilliant endings to one of the Best Tv Shows ever!!! Buffy The Vampire Slayer is Life! The best thing since sliced bread!
someone who's still listening? never gets old!
I'm still here.
Right here!
Im here too ! 😁😁
me too!!
I'm still here.
Never and I repeat...NEVER, will the quality of the series from the 90s and late 90s be surpassed by the current ones, both visually and musically. Buffy is a sample of it. When a series is so engaging and loved as much as Buffy, it means that the entire team did a magnificent job during its 7 seasons.
Disagree. On average, the TV shows are now better
@@ayanp353 nope lol. Not enough grand orchestra found in tv shows these days. They just pick a popular song that kinda fits and slam that shit over a scene written half as good acted even less as good. Chemistry between characters isnt as good. Messages pushed by modern shows aren't as good. It's not to say there aren't any good modern shows. Bojack Horseman for example is a modern show and a fucking masterpiece. But 90s and early 2000s shows fucking slapped usually. You had outliers that were bad unlike today where everything's shit and you have outliers that are really good.
Honestly I feel like creativity is just running a little scarce these days.
Best TV show ever.
Has anyone else realised that from about the 6.24 until the end, its an orchestral version of the Buffy theme song by Nerf Herder playing.
Nice catch, I never would have noticed.
They also did this at the end of the first season, after Buffy defeated The Master. They played a slow piano version of the song. Very powerful and effective use of music.
I learn new things about this shows depth all the time. Still blowing my mind Joss
Zander makes a reference to Nerf Herder too, Like a name calling, so funny!
Buffy, the best show in the world!
Still gives me goose bumps. I also played this at my wedding after we said our "I do's" back in 2009.
That must've been such an epic wedding song
ok, now I want to marry only for this
Deirdre Statham wow that's epic
I cried so much when I watched this episode for the very first time, I just couldn't stop, especially when Buffy told Spike the she loved him. I had been waiting so long to hear this... Even now, when I re-watch it, I just can't help myself, I cry and cry...
Me too😢 Spuffy all day ❤❤❤
2019 and i am still here. Greatest TV show ever.
The greatest show ever made! All 7 seasons were so beautifully made... Cast, crew, direction just superb... A cast of ever growing, expanding, iconic characters to love forever... Oh how I wished BTVS had an eighth season and ninth even! SMG rules!
oh yeah pussy
+Josh Pinder With the comics, Buffy is still going and is presently at is 13th season.
+Arthas_117 Currently 10th (the best) and the 11th is comming 🙌🙌🙌
Anthers - the "11 canon season" of atvs will start in October according to Dark Horse Publishers.
atvs?
Oh my god this music. It's the best. This moment.....I just finished a rewatch, and this moment is so fresh in my mind. Tears are happening at the office, right now, because of this music. *sniff*
If you're catholic, don't say it. I'm not and will say whatever I please.
lol
This song makes me feel like a slayer. I can feel strength running through my veins.
Kneel before this soundtrack! Submit to it!
Every time I listen to this (and that's a LOT of times now) I can't help but feel like I just finished the series for the first time. That piano chord at the end reminds me of how Buffy described her feeling "finished" in heaven. Or the very last words in Harry Potter: "All was well." It's sad but beautiful and happy, all at the same time.
This show will always hold a special place in my heart. Its evolution in maturity and the evolution of the characters that coincided -- transcend the means of which the story was told.
I just finished watching Buffy for the first time, God I don't think I've ever been this sad..
2019 and forever... this show is unique!
2021 and forever
I'm crying so bad...
La meilleure série au monde 👌❤
I finished watching buffy for the first time yesterday, today I watched the first episode again because its so awesome I could just watch it forever. Love buffy!!!
Ten years ago i watched Chosen (in Mexico) and i cried. Buffy still is a huge thing for me. Pure awesomeness. The feels!!!
Actually, the Spike/Buffy love theme is 2:53-3:48. That's what Robert Duncan used to have posted on his website as their love theme, and it does play throughout season 7 during key Spike/Buffy scenes.
2021 .... WHOS STILL LISTENING TO THIS BEAUTIFUL PIECE?😅🥰🥰🥰
20 years later and I still cry to this final
This song again after those years confort me and remember how buffy vampire slayer is the best
Some of you mentioned how this music was used throughout the season whenever Buffy gave her speeches, and that's true, but the part at 2:54 that is played during Buffy and Spike's moment - that music was also used throughout this season whenever B/S had a moment together. For example, the scene when Buffy finds out he had his soul, or the part when Spike gives her his "You're the one, Buffy" speech.
Beautiful use of music.
CapesideSlayer Leitmotif - always an essential part of scoring a largely character-driven piece such as Buffy, and an element that Thomas Wanker's score during seasons 5-6 sadly seemed to lack.
Agree. I do however think the score, “Elope” from S6 Smashed when Buffy/Spike brought the house down was pretty good.
Omg yes!! Spuffy’s love theme was so powerful and beautiful. I think under appreciated for sure.
I'm an 18 years old girl, and thanks to my uncle buying seasons 1-7 I've watched the entire series three times, I'm almost done watching it for the fourth time. I still love it
I tear up when I start hearing the slow version of the Buffy theme in the end....
Love this soundtrack. Hello from 2021
I am with you all ... BTVS its always in my heart
I remember watching this when I was like 12 crying when spike died...:(
:'( Same here.
***** Actually, Buffy was the one to make the decision who would wear the amulet and she chose Spike. Also, it wasn't Wolfran & Hart who sent the amulet and it wasn't Fred who made Spike corporeal again. That was all Lindsey's manipulations.
***** I've only recently discovered Buffy & Angel (Feb & March of this year), so it's fresh for me. :) Technically, Lilah gave Angel a packet when he was offered the LA branch and inside with the info on The First was the amulet. Later, Lindsey (calling himself Doyle) told Spike he was the one responsible for the amulet and for making him corporeal again. I think it was in the episode Soul Purpose (S5:E10) It was never said how the heck he got the amulet out of the collapsed Hellmouth. Or if it was mentioned I missed it. Being new to the fandom, I've only run through both shows once. So far. LOL
I just finished watching s7 first time 30 minutes ago and I am STILL. FREAKING. SOBBING.
He didn't die! He just temporarily went away
... I swear it's not denial :)
This show made us laugh, cry and feel. And that's the best and most difficult thing a show can do. And Buffy made it. Buffy always made it.
"Oh bollocks."
Buffy should return! I need you Buffy! I'm crying hard with the theme
You'll be so happy to learn there's a sequel to this coming out hopefully in the next few years fingers crossed the Scooby's return in some way shape or form
I heard they wanted to bring back the series with a afro American actress who would play Buffy.
goosepumps. i miss buffy. A true hero !
This piece is beautiful and moves me so much on its own, regardless of my love for BtVS. No matter what or how many years later, the last few notes always make me well up.
Name a TV series finale with a better soundtrack than this. I’ll wait.
Listening to it just brings back so many feels. ❤️❤️
I just recently finished watching for the first time ever. What an amazing series! The scene where Buffy gets stabbed, I almost died. I thought she was gonna die, AGAIN. lol
This is so beautiful especially the ending. Love love love. Makes me want to pick up an instrument.
This soundtrack really hits different. For five years I've been using this video to help me get through countless essays for school, I'm currently using it at University (big assignment due tomorrow lmao) and it's really cool to look back at all the nights I've spent motivated to get stuff done because of this video.
Who's here in 2019 ?
Me, always and for ever😌
Here forever
I used to get annoyed that Dawn had the last line in the show.
But then I realised the entirety of Buffy was about growing up... and she was the only one yet to do that.
Thank you Robert Duncan!,always with us,put intended ;).
"I want you........ TO GET OUT OF MY FACE" best tv show ever best episode of anything I have ever watched I'm so glad I've actually found this music I love it!! OMG I am watching the entire scene in my head while listening to this!
You should check out this! Complete score to Chosen! :D lalalandrecords.com/buffy-the-vampire-slayer-collection-limited-edition-4-cd-set/
Checked over old Buffy songs while re-watching the series.
I remember this song from the main menu, I nearly shrieked outloud when I heard this song again. Thank you so much!!!
The First made 17 accounts purely to dislike this. And then employed Wolfram & Hart in an attempt to have this awesome track taken down on bigus legal grounds.
xDD That would make perfect sense! 37 accounts by now, tho... -_- Fucking W&H / the First!
How is it that I've watched Buffy MY WHOLE LIFE and have only just realised the line going through the B is a stake 🤦♂️
2023 and yet, still one of the most iconic series ever! This stuff got me through it all. Bullying, coming out as gay. Everything. Eternal love to it.
9 years since my last comment, 20 years since BtVS ended, 24 years, 7 months and 14 days since I first saw it on BBC2 and it stole my heart, I'm still coming back. BtVS taught us so much. It taught us about respect for women, obviously. But it also taught us that heroes can be vulnerable and afraid and still stand up. It taught us how to deal with struggles, addiction, sexuality, even how to deal with life not going as we hoped. Of course I have rose-tinted lenses. I was 15 years old when I first saw it in 1998. It ended just before my first-year exams at university in 2003. I'll never pretend I'm not biased. But to this day, nothing has touched it in my heart!
Gets me every time. Even now...
just saw the series finale...cried for two hours. HARDEST show i ever had to let go in my life!
same. i just started the series from season 1 this summer and just finished the final episode of season 7. such an amazing series. the actors are just downright amazing, especially James Marsters, Joss Whedon is a genius, and the music is phenomenal. I too wish i could've watched it in real time, i try and make up for it by telling anyone i know who hasn't watched it that they must.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer will never truly be gone, not as long as there are those who remain loyal to Joss Whedon's beautiful masterpiece
"I..want you..to get out of my face..."
I get chills whenever I hear the strings. My god this is amazing. It's so filled with power and will and just.... Feeling.... It's incredible. Invigorating. I feel like I can do anything.
This is currently being used for The Rock on the new wwe 12 video game. I had a wry smile and thought of Buffy. What a glorious tv show it really was.
Everytime I hear the final fight, the gift and buffy and Angel's love theme I cry such great childhood memories I love you buffy please come back. In today's world we need our slayer back on her throne.
I'm a guy who started watching these series at the age of 8-10 years old, still loving this series like no series today. I still have all the collections of Buffy DVD's on my shelf.
Re-watched this series a couple of time, been years ago.. And I feel it might be time to do it again
This song is so beautiful!! I can see the show happening in my head and I get all emotional and teary-eyed.
(Goosebumps)
Got goosebumps from this amazing piece of music. The person who composed this, thank you. It is truly incredible.
This song will always live on with me! Buffy fan since I was 5 years old, still watch it to this very day! Thumbs up if you still love Buffy! -3
I'm currently dying ! Why does this show has to end !!
I finished a couple of days ago after a 4 month re-watch. I plan on starting all over again! This series is just....wow.
I love this song. Perfect for the series finale. It makes me feel proud and tear up a smidge every time i hear it. =)
I’m here ten years later and just finished another rewatch :)
2023 still watching. The Buffy and Spike love theme are the best part of this song❤ Makes me cry every time😢
Still the best song for Buffy final fight !! 🥰 here in 2020 !
Classic show😫 the score/soundtrack was amazing every season, especially this one
17 people have been slayed
epic! is the only word.
One of my favorite scores in the series! Always gives me goosebumps! Thanks for putting it up!
😖😭this song is my life
OMG this song bring me in tears !! The best show ever I love you Buffy, forever my hero !!
Best score ever. Iove this piece SO MUCH.
Thankyou and bless you,for taking the time to do this.Divine.
Such a brilliantly composed piece of music. It was utterly perfect for the scene. No other words to describe it except PERFECT.
This soudntrack makes me sooo emotional! It is absolutely amazing!
02:50 - Spike! Noooooo!
😭😭😭
I started watching Buffy when I was 3 and it went off the air when I was 5 I miss it still to this day and the finale means so much more to me now that I'm older
I've got goosebumps. I always get goosebumps when I watch that season finale.
GREAT piece, and fantastic show!
2021 and still giving me goosebumps and all the feels.
The Final Fight whether original length or this gift that keeps on powerfully giving longer version always makes me feel strong and passionate. It's also a very emotional piece garnering so many. The longer extended version is my favourite because it means I can spend just that little bit longer listening to It's magnificence. Something I vow to myself to listen to more regularly.
That being said I do like the fast paced, sense of urgency, in the heat of fierce battle nature of the slightly shorter rendition. Both have their unique listening experiences. However The Final Fight Long Version adds character in the slower paced moments.
The Final Fight Long Version and original version along with Close Your Eyes, Sacrifice and Remembering Jenny always guarantees floods of tears if you ever need a real good true cry. Not just for the association with what happened in the TV show but personal life memories and helps one to let out past and present pain and anguish but is also there to just reminisce with and enjoy the masterpiece that it is. The Final Fight whichever version it is, is such an emotional yet empowering piece of music that always communicates to me that I can bad ass my way through anything.
I have found the original just over 4 minutes version of The Final Fight on another channel. If you're reading this and are wanting to listen to it as well search The Final Fight Robert Duncan. The 4 minutes 2-3 seconds version will pop up. Radio Sunnydale is the image on the video. You're welcome in advance. ❤ P.S apologies to this channel if they too uploaded the shorter version and I just couldn’t find it.
Goose bumps, heart racing, thats real music.
Still watch buffy, forever and always. It's not just a vampire show, it's how you battle your fears and you must stay strong whenever you have to. It came by so many subject, love, friendship, sadness, losing someone, something, being someone. Anyhow, thats how i see it. #90s, I MISS YOU!!!!
Best TV series and soundtracks. Even in 2021
@spikescousin Thank you for posting this, my Dad is going through Cancer, and gettin that whole radio chemo yadda thing, and i cant admit to him or my Mum that it s hurting, but this helps, just listening to it, so a big thanks! loads of love from Ireland x
2022 toujours là ✊🏻
7:39 - Executive Producers Joss Whedon & Marti Noxon.
And it gets the soft transition, rather than the abrupt jumpcut to credits used in every other episode. Last time they did this was at the end of season 3, with the graduation episode.
For the first time since season 3, this feels like a true ending. No more scares, no more twists, no more pain. Just a plain, old-fashioned, victorious ending.
I just watched Wild at Heart tongiht and it also had a soft transition?
You're right. It does. That's three instances, then.
2023 Still Here let's SLAAYY!!
Best series finale for the best series ever! Even though I was sad when I watched the last episode that the show was over, I had to admit that it went out with a bang :)
