Honestly, she seemed in a really cheerful mood for like around a week or so as of now. No idea if I'm just imagining things or not, but she just seemed more at ease and expressive in the past bunch of streams than in all the older content of hers I've watched.

Among all the hololive members, only Iofi can connect with Sora and talk casually while the others respect Sora so much that they feel reluctant when talking to her.
I can kind of see why she'd pick Asakusa over an amusement park. Probably just wanted to spend time with Sora in a more relaxed environment. She also knows that Sora has issues with Motion Sickness so an amusement park would have been a bad choice which is something Iofi would have taken into consideration. Iofi also already went to an amusement park with the ID gang earlier anyways so its not as if she hasn't done that.
Nah, for a tourist, Asakusa is a really great area that has everything in a short walking distance. Both a Buddhist and Shinto temple, the pagoda as well as the giant lantern in the gate; plus, the stalls have all the tourist essentials such as snacks and toys. There's the underground street and a shotengai nearby, arcades, a Don Quijote, plenty of decent restaurants and food stalls around, a park by the river, the golden turd, and SkyTree across the river. Pre-pandemic, there was a public bathhouse that was very tourist/tattoo friendly with a rotenburo, but it's permanently closed now. Just by visiting this location, you can knock out all the generic tourist stuff in a single day.

Iofi is probably the most wholesome Vtuber in all of Hololive. Everything she does seems to be with other people's wellbeing in mind. I mean, she did a song in sign language! Just that action alone is so great in rising awareness for the hearing impaired.

lol and the rickshaw, because of how it is designed and balanced, isn't actually that hard to pull. Wheels make a big difference, and the whole thing is balanced such that the driver isn't taking much of a downward load either, as the wheels are supporting the weight of the passengers.

I know the rickshaw looks kinda weird to foreigners. Being pulled by one man thinking you are too heavy for him. But don't worry. These guys are crazy strong. They build for this. And they need the money too. They count on these tourists, especially after covid. I tried it once and the guy looks so happy. Before me, he just stood there for a long time. Also, it's one of the old Japanese traditions. I hope Iofi changes her mind and try it someday.
it's okay if you have a sensible POV like Iofi does, but, you could see it the other way like, well, that is their job, so if you feel bad about, give them a bit extra, and be nice to them i think would make them feel appreciated

An afternoon with Sora in Tokyo/Asakusa, what a dream
It's very satisfying to have Iofi finally getting to meet and hang out with Sora given the friendship they'd formed prior.
Also, according to the JP clips of this, JP bros are saying that while they appreciate Iofi's kindness, she didn't need to be that worried. A lot of modern tourist rickshaws are apparently electrically assisted to reduce operator strain there.
Well, from the viewpoint of the same culture as Iofi... We have teachings from our parents about how we should live our life( social norms, etc) and in our eyes, when we see the person carrying him/herself a cart seated by people, we got flashbacks of our ancestors struggling with work as a slave of a then colonial nation.. our mind can't accept such a thing much less being symbolically a part of the agressor.. so really the part of saying "it must have been heavy" is basically just saying "i don't want to be a part of that that looks anything resembling the past colonization life"

As for the rickshaw comparison, yes it's actually quite similar, but in the idol's case there are those who wants them to entertain the fans 24/7 and those who wants them to take their time and rest whenever they feel tired or unwell

For those that don't know what a Rickshaw is it's like a small horse drawn carriage except it's a two seated and it's being pulled by an individual.
Many rickshaws are for one passenger only, some are cycle-rickshaws which are essentially lengthened tricycles with added seatings at the back.

Asakusa is just that place where you have to go and see for once how stunning it is, even if the locals of that area is used to it already. Just like BKK's Grand Palace, KL's Petronas Twin Towers, SG's Marina Bay Sands, LDN's Big Ben, PRS's Eiffel Tower, etc.
Casual dates are always the best. When pressure is replaced with comfort, it allows you to better see your date in their natural state...to better get to know who they are and what they truly want in life. It's great to go on adventures, but often the greatest adventure is a journey inside of someone's psyche.

We have cycle rickshaws in ID (becak), so when a jinrikisha video popped up in my feed I was fascinated. Human-pulled? I admit my first reaction was exactly the same as Iofi's, haha.
We all know where all those pudding went to.
But honestly, for people from outside Japan visiting Japan for the first time, anywhere can be a fun sightseeing.
oh but Asakusa is heaven for foodie, especially in Fall.
...like, almost every eatery there has something delicious, even if it's just a small stall by the road.
And i do recommend a god-tier Melonpan "Kagetsudo" sold in an old, run-down the shopping arcade near the Awashima-do, if any of you reading this.

It kinda scared me when Sora said she lives in Tokyo, but then I realized: 1. She's the one who basically started Hololive, so they are probably a bit more lenient with her. And 2. Tokyo is a massive city with a large population so finding her IRL is probably going to be very difficult for anyone that would try.
If anyone was wondering, "Asakusa" is indeed spelled with 草 (grass/lol). However the Asa is 浅 (superficial), not 朝 (morning) like Asacoco and the other Hololive morning streams.

Feeling bad about the rickshaw driver carrying you is understandable.....but not a good reason to use their service, I mean it's their job its how they make a living, if anyone here goes to Japan and gas the time I heavily recommend using their services, it's a fun and unique experience and you're helping these folks out too.
Well, I am Indonesian. It is quite understandable for Iofi to act like that. It is part of her culture ( I think she is Sundanese) that similar to me as Javanese, that we usually feel bad for the people who does a quite heavy job like that. We have public transportation like rickshaw in asakusa, called "becak". Even I know it's his job, I feel so bad for becak driver to carry me around the city. Usually, we pay more than usual for his job. Hope this information is useful.
As fellow Sundanese, I agree with Denny. Rather than riding the rickshaw, I would be more happy to just give the money and some food for the driver. The custom already in our blood since birth so it's kinda hard to change. Let's just say it's part of 'culture-gap''

The imagery of using another human being the way a farmer uses cattle to pull a plow is just wrong from my perspective. You could say “they chose this job”, but not likely, most people don’t have much of a choice in a class-based society because they need income to survive.

Honestly I would love to just hang out with friends in a cool net cafe and play games order good food then go out for desserts, buy a bunch of snacks then hang out at home and order some good pizza (or have a great homemade meal.), rather then go to an amusement park. Hahaha! ^_^

Rickshaws are an experience, but it's not an easy job. You want to make their life easier by not having them work, but if they don't work they don't get paid. As long as you're not obese or stay on them for a long time, I think it's alright to get on them for a bit.
