- Seemingly born fully formed in 2012, the Birmingham, Alabama-based St Paul and the Broken Bones hit the ground as big and strong as their sweat-soaked, seven-piece Soul-Funk sound, earning major raves from major media, including Paste magazine, Garden and Gun, Southern Living, Rolling Stone, and NPR. Fronted by Paul “St. Paul” Janeway, one of the most intense, charismatic lead singers to command a stage since James Brown, The Broken Bones have played festivals like Coachella and Bonnaroo and opened for The Rolling Stones.
Taped 333-feet below ground within Tennessee’s majestic Cumberland Caverns, this 12-part “musical adventure” series features both well-established and top emerging artists within the broad spectrum of Bluegrass, Jamgrass, Roots-Rock, Neo-Folk and Americana genres.
Bluegrass Underground (PBS) Season Six artists include Dave Rawlings Machine, The Suffers, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Mac McAnally, JJ Grey & MoFro, The Cox Family, The Lone Bellow, Drivin’ and Cryin’, Sierra Hull, and Jason & The Scorchers.

I've heard this song over a hundred times and loved the NPR Tiny Desk performance but this one I felt in my core. This guy used to be a broken hearted bank teller and now he's sharing his pain with us in the best way

Reid Simpson sings the toughest part of the song, hunched over or lying down, AKA the worst positions for singing. The guy's just too damn talented
Saw them in Berlin 5 years ago. I NEVER saw someone literally dying on stage singing ! I mean. They are absolutely epic. Period.
Amazing...I saw them in San Diego in 2019 and I was blown away by his voice, his stage presence, and the raw emotion he brought to every single song he sang for all of us that night...absolutely amazing! You guys should be a household name imo
I’ve seen this band twice and holy shit. Amazing. Best concerts I’ve been to hands down. That being said. When Paul was rolling around on the floor i saw the laugh on the rest of the bands face.

I saw them this past Saturday at the Alabama Theater in their hometown of Birmingham. What a great show! Best live band out there right now.

Was lucky enough to see their Byron Bay Bluesfest (Aus) debut … a big festival which attracts big names every year …. But these guys just blew the big top off it’s anchors !!!! They were all anyone was talking about that year 👏👏 just so good live
