  • Double header #1
We fell 0-11 vs a Travel team infield
    - the bulldogs played awesome defense!
    - We did pretty good ourselves but there were some mistakes
    - We had an actual 3rd basemen, we haven’t had that but in 2 or 3 games this season
    - Most every week our 3rd basemen are either pitching or catching
    - Also we’re usually a player or 2 short so we have to move people around
    - We also borrowed a short stop, she played well also
    - We hit the ball into play 8 times!
    - Put 5 runners on base but failed to score any runs
    - We left 1 runner on 3rd, and 2 on 2nd
    - Big thanks to Rebels players for helping us out, #7 and #18
    - They allowed us to play our defense in the places we’re best at

    OFFENSE
    - 0 runs on 0 hits with 16 plate appearances
    - 5 walks, only 3 strike outs
    - 7 ground outs, 1 fly out
    - We hit the ball, put it in play, they beat us
    - We make a base running mistake, takes a runner out of scoring position with the power of our lineup coming to bat, ends the inning leaves runner stranded on 3rd
    - #3, #7 rebels, #11, #27 reached base
    - Pirates avg - .000
    - Pirates OPS - .312
    - Contact rate 72%
    - We could hit the ball, just couldn’t get it past their defense
    PITCHING
    - #20 pitched the whole game
    - Faced 29 batters, 11 runs scored (7 earned)
    - 10 hits, 5 walks, 1 hit by pitch, 5 strike outs
    - 82 pitches - 48% strikes
    - Bulldogs batting avg - .435
    - Bulldogs OPS 1.073
    DEFENSE
    - none of these plays changed the outcome but they are areas we can improve
    - #1) 2 plays in right field, both difficult catches, neither is caught
    - - However in both instances, 2 fielders met the ball, big improvement, but more work to be done
    - #2) 2 plays at 1st, heel against the bag (instead of on it), runner called out.
    - - That’s bad defensive positioning, but zoomed in on video it appears our heel is backed up against 1st base and it was a correct but close call
    - - - The next time, a wide throw from 3rd pulls 1st foot off bag. She gets it back down before runner reaches (clear on video) but runner is called safe
    - - - - I feel the first call affected the 2nd.
    - - - - - We can help ourselves by have feet clearly on base on the 1st call
    - #3) We had a pop up, 1st basemen had to go around a runner, 2nd couldn’t get there quick enough.
    - We should’ve had that out, 1st basemen should’ve got that
    - Defense has the rights to the ball, offense is supposed to go around us.
    - #4) Fly ball pops out of glove at 2nd
    - #5) a bad throw from 2nd and poor catch from 1st allow runner to reach
    - #6) Couple close plays at home that pops out of our catchers glove
    - #7) 1 dropped 3rd strike that reached.
    - Again we still lose this game, but we can improve in these areas

Gameballs went to #20 and #18 collectively for the double headers
    - #20 pitched both games completely
    - Both made several defensive plays
    - Both got hits in the 2nd game
    - Both involved in a double play
