It's not true. I live in Multan and know about it's rich Hindu history, Prhalaad and holy! Unfortunately our state tried to instill the lies within us but we know the real history from our ancestors

*As per historical text and scholars, Present day Mali Malav Gana people were originally residing in and around Multan and Sangam areas of Ravi and chenab since time unknown in ancient Punjab.Mali Malav Gana people faught with Alexander's army in 326BC, then Alexander started his malian campaign against them and attacked their fort like structure made up of mud near Ravi.A fierce battle was held and Alexander was seriously injured by an arrow of Mali Malav people, then his infuriated greak soldiers brutally killed Mali Malav people, their women and children, many Mali Malav women burnt themselves to save them from greak soldiers and it was first recorded jouhar in Indian history. After this defeat Malav Mali people migrated towards south east in present day Rajasthan and Malwa and further in Maharashtra and later spread other parts of India.Mali Malav Gana people were agrarian people and having skills in floriculture & horticulture, so wherever they settled, they adopted floriculture and horticulture as their profession for survival. Mali Malav people were worshippers of supreme cosmic energy (Adishakti Devi Mata ) and they are priests in many devi temples in India. Present day Hindu Mali caste in India and Maliar caste people[converted from ancient Hinduism(actually Prakriti Puja dharma) into Islam during pace of time due to various reasons] in Pakistan are real descendents of ancient Mali Gana people, who were residing in and around Multan and Sangam areas of Ravi and chenab since time unknown in ancient Punjab.Multan derived from Mali Malav people as Multan =Malisthan, place of Mali Malav Gana people, Mali +sthan =Multan)*
