Yanqing carried me early game. When I first started playing Honkai Star Rail, I was told to prioritize the stronger units and completely ignore the weaker ones. After reaching a higher trailblaze level, I chose to full build Yanqing because I really liked his character and rng playstyle. I do understand why he is ranked the lowest and how his power level is significantly harder to maintain than other top tier characters. Even though he is squishy, he is fun to play and that is enough for me.
Yeah, I thought that he was ok until I played him, the single target thing slows down fights a lot and anytime you have enemies that summon more enemies you literally cannot auto because Yanqing will target the reinforcements instead of the enemies actually summoning more enemies, and since it is entirely single target that's all he will accomplish in that scenario.
But if yanqing had a passive where if he didn't get hit for like 2 turns he can do a follow-up attack guaranteed and that he gets like a some sort of damage block or negation whenever he ulted he'd be good
Great ideas! I also think it would help if his follow up attack did AoE damage or something to spice up his gameplay a little more and make him more universally viable
@@beanutDP Not a good idea since he's a hunt character, we need to respect the roles kind of like Dr. Ratio being single target, however Yanqing needs less RNG and more stuff in his kit like dodge, guaranteed follow-ups, freeze procs and really good single target dmg.
Yanqing carried me through the game dealing with 50k-80k dmg. I only use him in the stimulated universe now because I have other dps but he still good as a standard banner character.
I have 8 standard banner 5 stars (5050 losses/standard banner pulls) of which 4 of them have something to do with Yanqing (sitting at Yanqing E2 and got 1 LC earlier today, not even using hunt units). It's soooo annoying, I'd like to get Himeko, Gepard or Bronya for my Jingliu but nope, Yanqing it is. I feel cursed and it's so god damn frustrating.

@@SugarMasochist I do agree that most people forget that he is capable of deaing some pretty good damage, but he is certainly outshined by almost every other damage dealer unfortunately in terms of ease of use and scaling

i think the main reason he's not consider good is because there no suitable 4 star support for him yet (think gepard 4 star but with some kind of cleanse or fire mc with big enough shield and 2 turns taunt)
I think there are no bad characters in the game. Yes, Yanqing requires a lot, but if you use him correctly, it will pass all the content¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Still, it can produce huge amounts of damage.
It's just the passive he needs gets turned off way too often. Alot of new elite enemies and bosses have AOE atks, so the passive gets turned off b4 you can abuse it. His dmg is good, but the fact that it's attached to the passive is awful
Hes my first main (still is) im not good at the game idk i just cant seem to get the builds right but even with trash relics e0 and traces barely leveled he did 25k dmg in tye normal map (he does about 99k in the simulated universe but that doesn't really count)
... I have a Yanqing E2 in my main account, but not a gepard, so i dont will use it. In my another account is Gepard and Yanqing, but i already have a E5 Dang Heng(normal) and a Dr.Ratio. Sorry Yanqing.
"Yanqing is bad cuss as a hunt character he deals damage to only one character, so he struggles against multiple enemies" thats the same as saying that erudition is bad against single enemies, that's not what he was made to be used for. If he was way weaker in damage potential than anyone in hunt then maybe it would make sense to say he is bottom tier
It's all in the passive and nvr in the path. There were a good amt of post on reddit and youtube saying Destruction is OP not even realizing that for three patches we literally got 3 good destruction units in the game. Or that some how Erudtion was "wasting dmg" for targets that don't exist anymore as if that mattered. Big numbers in any shape are nice and we don't need some weird hybrid to carry us.
Well yanqing already isnt great since the hypothetical single target scenarios dont exist in the game outside of the weekly bosses that are already pretty easy to beat. If that wasnt enough, dr ratio is coming for free and completely outpaces yanqing in single target scenarios
@@sharequsman596 Hanya, Bronya, Tingyun, Ruan Mei because Yanqing is SP hungry and Hanya is SP factory. Bronya, Ruan Mei and Tingyun work for almost any team. Gepard, March because he needs shield to keep his buff. Pela is also good because of her debuffs.
Even if we compare him to release characters, I'd rather (and have) build Arlan or Hook, 4 star single target destruction units than this glass canon. I lean towards Arlan for the high risk high reward and AoE ult tho

Yanqing is secretly a top 5 unit of the game yall just can't build him right (i'm in denial about him since he's my only option right now)
i use him, E1 0-1 Cycle MoC 12 and Reached 435k dmg Singletarget on this last MoC

The thing I find Yanqing useful for is that thier speed helps with my traveling on missions plus they can get trotters in seconds.
