Nothing special, just thought it be a nice touch to upgrade the SMD colour to match the theme my Son choose (green his fave colour) So leave a like for him if you think its a good choice. **TimeStamps** 0:00 - Ford mondeo mk4 colour smd/led cruise control replacement (how to) 07:45 - SMD/LED Replacement 17:21 - Final Product
Ill use this video to clean the cruise controls on my smax since the only work intermittently so could just be dirty inside unless you know different cheers
Good morning chazz, today I removed the control of the mondeo mk4 that was failing me and I changed it for another one that I bought and when I connected it it puts km at 0, press ok, I press ok but it doesn't go away. you will know what problem you may have and what to do. thank you very much for your videos they are worth a lot for people like me who try to repair our mk4.
Good work Chazz. I dropped you an email recently regarding the wiring/pinout on the MK4 BCM/GEM. Looking for the global lock and unlock wire. Similar to what you sourced on your MK3 with your remote start kit.
Impressive work. Always too many jobs on a Mk4 to do, be delighted to be soldering LEDs rather than angle grinding the toe bolts out the rear subframe :D :(
Just a tip to anyone who's installing this radio... if you experience weird electrical glitches with your dash after installing this i.e. speedo and rev counter not working (or working intermittently) and Convers+ computer unresponsive) then don't panic. Same thing happened to me, but I turned the engine off and came back to the car a few days later just to find that the above problems automagically fixed themselves (who knows how?!). I'm wondering if it has something to do with the radio's 1-hr shutdown timer, and that maybe it needs to fully power off before it can be recognized or integrated into the car's system? Anyway, I've driven three times now (I don't drive daily) and each time the radio has worked flawlessly, as has the instrument cluster. Amazing radio it is too, looks way nice than the stock radio (how's that even possible lol) and the led lighting matches flawlessly with the rest of the dash. Brilliant!
Deffo more fidlier, but looks better. And im loving the mk4 a nicer smooth drive so ideal for the family daily motor. How ever the st220 is a great car if your wanting some fun to your drive 😈
@@bobertrarton6266 automotiveledconversions.co.uk/pages/SMD&LED.html you will need the 0805 for the steering wheel controls. You can send yours set to me and i can do them for you if you wanted.
I'm looking at changing all the control panel lights as in steering wheel and climate and headlight controls are these all the same smd's. Also do you have videos on these aswell
Hi All, i have searched the forums and cant seem to find anything similar to the issue I'm having although I'm sure its very common. the interior lights in my Mondeo don't seam to come on when the car is unlocked or the doors are opened, the button for turning all the lights on and the button for the open door function seam to work but when you turn on the reading lights they work front and back. i was wondering is this a fuse or is it a case of needing a new light module in the front. any help would be great thanks.

Nice work bro looking like the mk3 fsctory green lol and them smds so little glad you do mine i wouldnt have the patience
Yeah i know, seem nicer tho. These smd are tiny
Much easier to push the board out with the silicon contact pad still attached by pushing gently from the outside where the connector is.
Well done!

Are the smd leds the same size for lights switch and steering whell commands??
Why not take out the fuse for the air bag. Also invest in picks on Amazon before starting job
Great job chazz but how do you know the size of bulbs lol
Cheers Pete, ive been working with smd type leds for a while. Plus love playing with eletronics.
It looks a fiddlier job compared to the Mk3 but looking good Chazz. How ya finding the Mk4 ?
