Chuck, thank you for uploading this and other episodes of Texas. I loved seeing the romance between Iris and Alex. Hearing their talking of and flashing back to the beginning of their relationship was beautiful and so well written for not having existed as far as we knew when Iris was in Bay City. What drew me to Texas was Beverlee/Iris. This was the only time in Beverlee's soap history where she was involved in a true romance and I thought she and Bert Kramer were cute together.

This came across my timeline for some reason. I had never heard of it! I’ll have to ask my mom if she remembers it. Thanks!

Now I can watch bev McKinsey play iris from her Texas run to fill in the time between when carmin duncan took over the role. And I was a huge fan of bev McKinseys work on gl as Alexandra Spaulding

I thought at this stage of her life, Iris' last name was Bancroft, yet Alex's driver called her Mrs. Carrington?

The last thing I saw actor Bert Kramer in post Texas was an episode of matlock. The original sharlene from another world actress Laurie heinman was also on matlock I believe she appeared in the same episode . Though I don't remember the names that either Bert or Laurie played all I remember is that Laurie played 2 characters. I think she played a murder victim . I think FYI actress Nancy Stafford and Linda purl who both did matlock had also done daytime Nancy appeared on the doctors. While Linda appeared on the general hospital spinoff. Port Charles. It's interesting how everyone is hiring both past and present soap stars not that I blame them if I was making my very own movie or television show. I would tell my casting staff 2 get me some past or present soap opera actors or actress whether it be Susan Lucci. Linda Dano. Victoria Wyndham. Kim Zimmer John Aniston. Susanne Roger's. Leslie Charlton. Maurice Bernard. Lawrence st. Victor. Grant Alexander. Micheal o leary. . Who ever etc etc etc. I would definitely. Would want 2 have my casting people get me a soap star past or present . Better them than 2 cast a bunch of untalented. WWE wrestling. Or hip hop rap artist. As much as I don't like the direction that the soap genre is going in still I would want 2 have soap actors or actresses. Past or present be part of my cast. Then those WWE or hip hop no talent people. Clearly all these film and t.v producers agree that's why they are always quick 2 cast soap performers . I have a whole collection if DVD movies and t.v shows of all genres and I can tell you at least I would say 80% of my dvd have at least more then 1 current or former daytime soap stars just watch all those Friday the 13th movies clearly Jason along with Mrs. Voorhies are both die hard soap opera fans LOL haha everyone from Jamie frame from AW. To lexis from DAYS. To Stacey from LOVING. To Kevin bacon who did both SFT and GL. Even Duncan from ATWT. to Scott reeves aka Mr. Mellissa reeves who did both. DAYS and GH. Have come in contact with that legendary hockey mask guy. The list of daytime actors who met mr.jason just goes on and on. WAaaaaaaaaaaay to many to name. Sorry but all you very untalented WWE wrestlers and hip hop rappers just don't have it. Even Hollywood casting people know it.

Thanks so much for sharing! This first episode was really dry. I realize the main draw is Iris. But if you did not watch AW, would you have really stuck around to watch tomorrow's episode? Nothing in the story or characters drew me in. I of course am looking forward to seeing Iris and Vivien and I hope to care about the other characters.

This was horrible for a introduction to a new show it was like watching paint dry . I can see why this program only lasted for two seasons no action very slow storytelling and characters that no one cares about.

Yes but bev McKinsey ended up playing out stuff here first that she would end up playing as Alexandra Spaulding after Mindy got involved with her long lost son nick.
Lujacks twin. After Mindy had an affair with Micheal zaslows Roger Thorpe on gl.
Which was ironic back in 1991 because aw had just reintroduced Dennis though de aged and different VS this dennis and carmin duncan was good as iris as Chris Bruno was as dennis they were just different.
Also at the time Texas was trying to be more like Dallas was. And the hour and a half aw experiment had failed.
But just so you know Texas and the doctors got canned not because of bad storytelling but because NBC thought game shows were more hip.
      Sound familiar.

@@gabrielstern4992 actually, the shows got cancelled due to consistently low ratings AND terrible writing, etc.

@@johnbenzer5026 And adding that it was sandwich between GL on CBS and GH on ABC and they were both powerhouses at 3 pm and then moving the show to 11 am was the final nail in the coffin.
