- Former defence minister Linda Reynolds has described Malcolm Turnbull’s contributions to the Liberal Party and the country during his time as Liberal leader as “underwhelming”.
In 2015, Mr Turnbull ousted the then-prime minister Tony Abbott when he won a late-night party room ballot of 44 to 54.
“He certainly didn’t fulfil his potential as prime minister,” Ms Reynolds told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“His disastrous decision to go to a double dissolution was the wrong decision.
“The Australian public made that very clear in the election results.”
