An informative Q&A with Mary-Lyn Kieffer, Director Made of Millions Foundation Canada, and Kyla Fox, an established leader and innovator when it comes to re-framing the way we think about and treat eating disorders. As someone who struggled herself, Fox has worked to identify care gaps and fundamental flaws in treatment and recovery approaches.
Kyla works out of The Kyla Fox Centre. The Centre provides a full spectrum of individualized and custom tailored treatment ranging from those who require the utmost intensive treatment program (7 days per week, 10 hours per day), through to those who have established more stability in recovery and therefore require work around transitioning back into life/relapse prevention.

    ABOUT ASK THE ADVOCATES
Millions and millions of people around the world live with mental illness, but their stories are not all the same. They come from different places, cultures, communities and countries. They like different things, have different kinds of friends, and cope with their symptoms in different ways. When talking about mental health, it's important that we highlight these differences and explore how they shape our experiences. Mental health narratives should be as diverse and unique as we are.
    ABOUT MADE OF MILLIONS
The Made of Millions foundation is a global advocacy nonprofit on a mission to change how the world perceives mental health.
Each year, millions of people around the world are diagnosed with a mental health condition. People of every age, country, gender and ethnicity. Millions more go undiagnosed, and are forced to battle their symptoms without the care and support they deserve.
As sufferers, we know their pain. We know the isolation they experience at the hands of cultural stigma. We know the anger they feel at media outlets who misrepresent their conditions. And we know the frustration they have with healthcare systems that make it impossible to find help. The Made of Millions Foundation wants to heal this pain.
Using the power of art, media and digital technology, we’re on a mission to transform how the world perceives mental health. And in doing so, create a safer and more inclusive future for sufferers everywhere.
