Code don’t work
I wouldn't have detailed that for $350. That detailer (self-contained and self sufficient) is worth his weight in gold.
i think it would depend on how long it took him. i would guess if it takes him 6 hours he is likely still making $50/hour which is pretty good.
Mates rates..
Since when is vacuuming and washing a car worth 350, only the term "detailing" add 200$ to the price
@@Chris-hw4mq detailing a car is much more than just vacuuming and washing. I learned that the hard way shipping vehicles internationally.
@@Chris-hw4mq we now use the term detailing in the uk now…and we use the term flipping also….American imports…they drive the language these days guys..detailing just means a basic detailed freshen up…sew that tear if you’re lucky..
When I started out as a tech, I remember having to work on a Chevy Lumina in which some kid wired in a stereo. Kid did a somewhat decent job, except he lacked the screws to property secure the radio to the dash. So he just took some wood screws, and fastened it that way. Every few seconds, the fuse would blow and all the interior lights + radio would go out. So he fixed it by replacing the fuse. Then it happened again. So he stuck a bigger fuse in there. It happened again. So he stuck a penny in there. Turned out that the screws that he used were too long and screwed themselves into some wiring, causing a short. The penny never blew, so the wiring melted. I just added up the cost of all the components and shop hours it would take to repair the damage. Customer took the car and I never saw it again.
Ah. The first lumina twin cam v6 that lost a t belt that rolled into gm dealer .you could see the tech's brain cells melting
You're killing me with this Escalade convertible $hit! I don't like convertibles, much less half-a$$ homemade ones!
Imagine thinking cutting the roof off a pos somehow makes it cool.
People do it all the time with Jeeps. Me personally I can't imagine life without a convertible. Why be confined in a car? I'm the guy that you see cruising to work at 430am in 43 degree weather with the top down. Still riding my motorcycle in 30 degrees as well.
@@cs1375 people do not cut the tops of their jeeps. Big difference.
People have their own tastes in cars and design bud.
@longjohn77 I'm talking about XJs not the Wrangler. I have seen more XJ Sawzall conversion than any other vehicle. Sometimes just making beds out of the cargo area behind the seats.
Definitely not a loss Craig , you got a cool video for the tube. Content car.
GM should have had a duramax option for these hummers.
agreed

He put a screw through that poor Bentley's interior dash lol!

I'm Dealer in Ga, Just sold 2005 H2 with 62,000 miles for $26,000 the other day. When my son told me about it at auction, I said there is no way it would be worth that much...he was right. Hummers bring stupid $$$
Wow Craig. Those Hummers are worth a fortune over here in Ireland. You don't even see them on the road that's how much they cost. You need to start shipping them over here. Anyway as always I do wish you the best of luck buddy. Keep up the great work. 😄👍👍
wow! thats my world! used car dealer for 30 years. i keep about 25 caars in stock. very hard to buy cars right now. its a full time trying to buy good cars
It's fine, they just turned the harness into the fuse.
Well it wasn't the wire as much as the pins in the connector and possibly the module
This sort of thing is something I would buy for myself. Wiring loom change etc. Frame off and get the frame blasted and powder coated. Rust and body fixes.
Good move, gotta have the balls to take a risk sometimes.
Have you ever tried brushing on some Naval Jelly on that crusty rust? Or, for just something quick, Eastwood Rust Converter.
The rock!!!! Classic nic cage, rip Sean
Wheel acid usually is just diluted hydrofluoric acid, best way to use it is spray it on then use a pressure washer and get it out quickly essentially flashing the rims while still cleaning then because leaving hydrofluoric acid on wheels will eat up the chrome like u said turning them green and can cause it to start to flake off or go dull as well as it takes off any coating the wheels have oblivious those don’t but most wheels you don’t want to leave it on especially chrome, painted you can just fine.
It's either gonna be a parts car or a labor of love.
great stuff thanks
Buying a non runner from another dealer 🤣, yeah that is 😵💫.
Prob could have gotten that Hummer at least running by cutting back the harness at the EBCM and connect the CAN wires together (computer wires that transmit messages). That is a big project though sourcing a harness and installing it.
Electrical diagnosis is my favorite. Just did a buddies plow truck today. Service 4wd indicator was on and his scan tool would not connect. He already shotgunned parts on it. Turns out he was trying to sync the scan tool as a Dodge, but for some reason they list them as a RAM as Make. 🤔. Anyways, had a bad wire and I was in and out in 2 hours.
Great vids..merry christmas
Good content!!! Nice looking hummer . I think being you wanted to cut the top off I would have hack the heck out of it wireing and all. It's old enough parts should be reasonable.
All said and done you won! Hell yes it was worth the gamble.
It was worth the risk. You never know when you luck out!
The chassis is completely rust, only rust.. How that car can pass an inspection I don't understand..
I got a 2004 h2 from copart 2 years ago for 3900 after fees i drove it home from Atlanta so I guess that was half the battle, mileage was wrong on car fax they had the dash on KM not miles it was also painted all pearl while like the Escalade, perfect paint job jams and all behind all the windows and all i ended up putting in a performance 4L65e in it and i still have it
You're a pro, great buy
I too thought about cutting the top and having it turned into a convertible with a roll cage. 😵💫👌❤️
Parts alone are a gold mine for these trucks. Easy triple up regardless.
I could swear I've seen that H2 up around the Portland Maine area.
I will say it is worth it for the experience 👊🏼
I like the car air freshener idea thanks. I been watching your videos awesome! It's funny I was talking to my friend he does car alarms and sound systems I'm chicago so we have alot of rust as well!! But he was also working on a H2 and the customer said his dashboard was on and off and constantly blowing fuses. The shop he works didn't do the installation of the sound system nor mufflers. He took everything out like the seats and carpet inspecting everything he noticed a sheet metal screw ripped into a wiring harness.
You seem like a really good mentor. Because some used car guys are hard to trust u don’t seem like the topical used car salesman
Newer subscriber. Enjoying you gamble cars and your transparency on winning and losing. Wished we had honest dealers like yourself here in Canada 🇨🇦

gm transmissions are very easy to put it into nuetral on the trans lh side pop the shift cable off and pull the shifter one notch. I n nuetral OH chack the wheels so it does not run you over.
unfortunately ACV does not stand behind their customers. I used to buy 3-4 cars/ month through them and always A L W A Y S all the units came with way more problems than expected. You name it, SUSPENSION issues, Wobbling tires, STEERING problems, PAINT problems. NOT TO MENTION one vehicle "GREEN LIGHT with powertrain warranty" that had MULTIPLE RANDOM MISFIRES and we took it to TOYOTA to get a diag and it needed a HEAD GASKET ( $ 4800 ) for the job. AND ACV REFUSED to accept the return because they said "THEIR GUIDELINES" said it was a STANDARD REPAIR (LOOOL) and that they would cut us a $1000 check to have it repaired. THE ISSUE WAS that NOBODY WANTED TO DO THE REPAIR for $1000, so we got stuck with a vehicle where we spent $4800 to have it repaired and lost $3000 on the sale. AND I COULD KEEP GOING FOREVER THROUGH EVERY CAR we got through them and EVERYONE HAD $1000 usd extra on repairs, EXTRA from what was expected from their REPORT. Also so many cars we "won" and they didn't sell to us even though we accepted the COUNTER OFFER, and then the "seller" obviously FRANCHISED DEALERSHIPS didn't want to sell. And ACV said they COULDN'T FORCE SELLERS to sell, but guess what ? They will SCREW YOU to buy it. So ACV is a place for FRANCHISED DEALERS to DUMP JUNK they can't sell in regular auctions where dealers can check the cars in person.
So we are DONE buying cars from ACV. And at the moment we stopped using them, we started making $$ again. So to us it was a VERY BAD EXPERIENCE and would recommend everybody to STAY AWAY FROM THEM.
Enjoying the videos, fairly new sub here.
You were Bloody Lucky!!🇬🇧👍
In near 7K and running its a 9K at best 10 to 12 K gets a nice lightly rusted Hummer

What camera and mic do you use for your videos?
Wow.
1: Replace abs control module
2: isolate power supply at abs module
3: remove abs connector
4: separate all wires at loom
5: olm all corresponding wires , solder replace as needed reconnect connector

cut out acv transporting (over charging) and sign up for central dispatch if you can! 👍
CENTRAL HECK NO. ACV is ok. but not central or ready both suck as
@@lsimson idk ive bought over 200 cars on acv, was one of their first customers back when cars were selling for 50$. acv transporting 100% makes money being the middle man on transporting, weve always saved sometimes up to HALF directly going to the transporters and avoiding acv
Can you do the laser thing on the frame rust, then coat it or paint??? Or is that too pricey?
nver tried
Wire wheel and spray on dark fluid film would probably be cheapest. Por 15 if you have the patience to prep and do it right
I remember you saying just that.. "I will never buy another hummer again" ands now you did ... well lol
It's really cool 😎
What lb. fishing line is best for upholstery repair? lol
7 lb :)
Even after fixing the melted harness you'd still have to figure out why the fuse was blowing. Could have been the harness itself, or something completely different. Ugh, you were smart to get rid of it.
Man that interior was gross! I’m glad you got rid of that Hummer! Didn’t you say never buy a hummer? Let’s stick with that motto next time!!! Great vid!!
Poor Hummer.. 🥺
You will always do it again.
I was going to get a yellow H2 but I got aF250 power stroke Harley instead
“I’m only borrowing your Humvee” - The Rock

In NY the dealers would just undercoat the frame and pretend it’s not rusty
I wonder how German is doing it’s been a while I know he’s doing his own thing
How do you make a nickel work in the olace of the fuse
Rough hummer
That is the first Hummer I have ever seen with rust.
I see several of them everyday and they use copious amounts of road salt where I live.
18:21 if it's anything like an F150 it needs a jump pack in order to get it into neutral......they won't shift without 12v (maybe call me capt obvious?)
Damn you should have tried to fix it some how but atleast you didn't lose to much
Who’s the detailer? I’m in southern maine and thinking of swinging by sometime.
And if I stop by. Do you have any referrals for someone who does paint correction and someone who fixes small curb rash on rims?
Bought a 06 H2 SUT on eBay for 5000 Nov 2023. Had dented roof. Drove it 500 miles home.
I am glad you sold it like that. You should not cut a Hummer H2 like that.
That thing would have looked cool as a convertible if you cut along the body lines and over the window frames.
Personally I really dig the pickup/bed versions....
Would have made for some great content.
Convertible Hummer might be ideal for a hot tub on wheels?
I remember people used to put a penny in the fuse box when Glass fuses were in homes and would burn their house down, Duh 🙄 if fuse keeps blowing got a short in the wiring.
Hated those things even when they were a thing
Craig can you tell me what the key cost you? I do keys in the west so just asking to get an idea
$165
It's very risky but it's just wiring these trucks are really good I say it's worth the investment at the end of the day these trucks are reliable
Ouch. Sight unseen beware auction PSA.
damn this was awesome, I was surprise that you did not lose at much.....
I though it was worse.... till the next one
You need a dry ice machine for that baby 👍
True
craig, why don’t you ever talk about the holding cost of cars? my dad was in the car business for many years he always told me they melt like ice cream!
I don't think you ever lose
holy crap. That thing has been rigged together with bubble gum and duct tape!
Crap rust bucket!!??? You got lucky a parts h2 ??? Good job and good luck 👍 once again soap and water goes a long way$$$$
a $125 loss... is a WIN... cool rims

Please do a video series where you fix the cars, make them an nft, and sell them as an nft. Pretty cool with a .5% royalty for every transaction sold in the future forever….
I was going to say what kind of dealership doesn't know to hookup a battery.
125 not to bad good luck the next car
Wouldn't you have saved more money if you had the tech look through it before cleaning it and replacing the key? Why did you decide to detail before looking through the functionality of the car just curious 🤔
I take them when they can show up.
@@FlyingWheels okay that's understandable. Thanks for answering
A GM tech that’s stumped?? Yeah that’s not news lol
The rock, where Sean Connery stole the H1 from a German Business guy and he called him after a while in the truck....nice movie scene
Alright Craig at the 5:00 mark I'm thinking you may have screwed up! Alright Craig at the end a total loss of 125 bucks, would roll the dice on that one all day long!
That thing looked good though! 😎
I’m down in Salem I need my work truck detailed its a 14 f250 king ranch
How can I reach you my man?
It's a Suburban/ Tahoe /Escalade harness, no that hard to come by.
Hummers used to be real popular. I think the escalade .put out of business
it was a technical loss but you basically broke even!
I say you should of put the money in Hummer you would of been up no matter what.Thats a nice vehicle.
I would not have detailed it before I knew the engine runs. You could’ve made money on this deal.
Rule of thumb- if they don't maintain the inside, they don't maintain the rest of the vehicle either.
So much space…. You could do aerobics in there, …step class…….
Im only borrowing your humvee "The Rock"
CRAIG WHAT ARE YOU DOING 19:23 only your wife should You doing that 😅
