As a single parent I never had that problem. When my son was about seven or eight we would go on camping trips with other members of our family. In a matter of fact, he was more behaved during those camping trips than he was staying at home. Now he's all grown up doing his own thing.😃

God bless you Jay for being the only guy. I know my daughter when she was going thru her teenage rants I almost yelled her up , but I had to sit her down and tell her I’m the only parent and doing all I can your going to respect me or else you only gonna go to school, church that it. My son was more understanding when we couldn’t do things. Yeah I had to do a Jay most of the time with my daughter, but know she older she understands now and the struggles.

We traveled alot when my kids were younger. And I definitely dealt with alot of attitude at times...especially when my daughter was a teenager! But I told them...I planned this vacation, I paid for everything, now you can choose to have fun or be miserable and that's on you cause I'm gonna have a good time 🤷♀️😂. Now that my kids are grown, they are too busy with their own lives to travel with mama 😭. So now I just plan trips with friends and those are always fun!!! And I'm very direct too so I tell people up front, don't come on this trip with me if you're gonna be a problem 🤣🤣

We have 3 , ages 18, 16, 8 and it's not easy to get everyone wanting to go the same place . So most times my husband and I don't asked we just tell them where we're going and that's that .
Our son is in the middle and he's the one that hates going anywhere with the family but usually the one that have the most fun.
That’s a good way to do it. Just go and don’t tell. Lol. I’m glad we’re not alone.
I enjoyed your take on this topic. As a single mother I've always taken my only child on vacations with me. Now that she's 18 🎉
I feel more free to take some trips without her. However she has made it obvious that she enjoys coming along. I tell her there WILL be trips that I take alone but for those that she is invited to come along she should roll with the program and not try to dictate the trip. She gets in moods sometimes where she likes to stay in the hotel for hours at a time then I tell her she could have done that at home. Why waste the hotel and flight right? 🤷🏽♀️Glad I'm not alone in this lol. Thanks Rasha and Jay!
