Xbox Series X/S: How to fix not connecting to hidden Wi-Fi network (2023)

I ran into an issue where my Xbox Series X apparently disconnected from my Wi-Fi network and it wouldn't automatically reconnect. And when I tried to manually connect, it kept failing. I finally figured out how to connect and figured I'd share the info! Hopefully it helps!

You can also just go into "Advanced settings" then "Alternate MAC address" then choose "CLEAR" to clear your MAC address, then the console will soft reset.
That worked for me, thanks appreciate the help

@@MrMillander make sure the console resets. Also try resetting (unplugging and waiting a minute) your modem and router.

When I find my wifi and actually connect, after seeing "Checking connections" it's telling me that it doesn't work. I don't know how to fix it. Please help.

Ok but I am setting my Xbox up and it won’t let me get off this screen without getting onto the wifi but this happens and I can’t hit the home button
I simply just connected my series x through my Ethernet cable connected from my wifi router and gave my console a hard reset through settings> system> console info> reset console. Make sure you keep your saved games and apps though!! It will not keep your progress if you are offline so make sure you are connected to wifi to hard reset. I then went back into settings after the reset and I logged back into my account to connect back to wifi wirelessly and it connected! This at least worked for me hopefully for someone else that needs help too👌🏽

I've never had issues of this nature, or at all, with Playstation consoles. Regretting taking the chance on the Series X now as this issue seems to be a constant.
It's only the Xbox series x console that does that
I had an old Xbox one that never did that

@@Tw0_Tones21 Clearing cache worked for me (for a while) but Xbox suddenly made it harder to even do that. Changed the menu and everything. Look up the video "How To Clear Sytem Cache On Xbox Series X/S" by Simon Explains. Note: After clearing cache you'll now have to sign in again and possibly have to reassign whatever custom settings you had. I'm just gonna stick with starting the console twice to connect lol.

If your having problems with a Xbox one of any kind before you do that try turning off your Xbox unplug the power cord and wait 30 seconds then retry to connect
I waited like 3 goin arround of the rotating thing and then exit and worked. Can't believe a 200GB operating system and can't do something as basic as connect to a hidden network

U know what worked for me? I hit and hold the xbox button on the console until it resets. When i turned it back on. Problem solved.
So i have somewhat a similar issue... have tried many of the steps and am honestly ready to throw my series x in the trash (no resell). Ive cleared mac, manually input ssd, changed ports.
Heres what happened and i would appreciate any help or am curious if anybody has been thru the same...
i bought harry potter legacy a week ago on disc. Installed the game offline, said it was ready to go. Started it up, let me do a fucking intro until it said i needed to connect to the internet to play more.... ok whatever. I connect on mobile hotspot (huge update to be expected) again whatever. I fall asleep wake up this morning to it stuck on 72 percent with no download speed... i disconnect go to reconnect, my wifi/hotspot DOES SHOW UP WITH FULL BARS but will NOT reconnect. I have no idea what to do and have been stuck on this for a grip. Ive forgot the network along with the million steps i posted up top first. What do i do if my connection shows up but refuses to connect all of a sudden. Its been hours and my connection is fine. It tells me it cant connect after a very long "checking connection" shpeal then tells me to "CANT CONNECT TO INTERNET, If you have a pc try connecting to internet on it. You may have to work with your (ISP) to fix your connection" yet my connection is fine. I appreciate the feedback if i recieve any, im on reddit/discord should anybody want to take a look visually at what i got going on, its alot to explain 😁🙃
