Awesome! I can't wait to hear how it turns out. It can be a little tricky to wrap your plant but I think the hardest part is having patience to allow for your roots to grow deep into the moss pole LOL

Interesting technique! It makes sense, considering top cutting usually makes the new growth - as you put it - "start over" and I also have found it difficult to get larger leaves just by pruning/propagating. Nice!

Exactly. I hope this video benefits you if you want to try your hand at air layering yourself!

Why cut the moss pole? After the air-layering, you have new roots and when you cut the moss pole, you also cut the plant, so why not just cut the plant, free it from the moss pole and give it a new moss pole when you replant it? That way the motherplant will still have a high moss pole.

When air layering, the roots are still fairly delicate. I'd like to prevent as much shock as possible to the plant. When transplant shock occurs, it is usually due to disturbing the roots. If I cut the moss pole, I don't have to disturb the roots at all :)

That pole needs a balancing ability to stay standing correctly 🤪🤪🤪🤪
