Your baling system works a treat George and if it ain't broke don't fix it. Pleased the van passed them old Astras are gooduns I know a few plummers who swear by them....
Good gettin the van through the MOT👍 you seem to have a the wrapping down to a T👍 Silage always looks really good when you open the bales for feeding 💪👍
Blimey George for the 1st time I know of, you mentioned me? Being the daft full of idea's I am for your farming too. Thanks for the reply George.. I hope my idea's help you sometime? 😁
If the van is a 1.9 CDTi (which I suspect it is from other videos) they commonly have a lazy starter that uses a higher draw and eventually fails due to not being able to spin the engine fast enough to start or drawing too much so now you’ve fixed this you should have also fixed your starting problems as long as the battery is healthy. Hope you’re recovering well George!
As we all know George hay or baleage in the shed is good insurance for poor years. You can never have enough hay or barrage.good one mate, keep them coming.
Nice video George, good advice about the silage. If the weather stays good throughout the summer, you could possibly get 3 cuts of silage. Keep it up George 🚜 👍
Your rapping system suits your farm style a treat George - there’s no need to change a system that works well. I can never see an electric loader being powerful enough to challenge the JCB you already have. Fantastic news about the van!! 👏👏👍 you must be well pleased. Keep up the vids they are always interesting. 🚜🚜👍
Hi George you well, I like the way it all works it’s like Poetry in Motion , You can understand y there is not so Workers on the land these days and every thing must be done Yesterday, Good video George any way you take care of yourself and stay safe and well.🌈🌈🚜🚜👀.
It's good for people to see the difference between farmers kit and contractors kit, it's not just a rake it's whole other operation adding cost not just financial there's a driver, tractor and fuel to consider and unlike a contractor you are not able to pass the cost on.
cant beat the astra van . mine is the same as yours . i have had astra vans since my first d reg , then h reg then a g reg then m reg them 04 , now 56 ,
Always find your videos interesting aswell as being educational George! Just being curious, do you rotate your stock of round bales? All the best from 🏴
Good vid Looks a good bit of silage and your right can easily damage wrap putting on trailer hedge on way home and then taking off I have McHale automatic wrapper drive's of tractor just like yours I remember when someone had to stand there and do levers 😭 How's your foot ? Take care stay safe cheers mate 👍
Every time I hear the word Astra van, I keep on remembering the mk's1 and 2's in the 80's 🙂 interesting video, a guys CZcams channel called Badly's Farm was explaining as to why he likes the colour wrap which I thought was interesting, just out of interest how many wraps do you put on per bale ? 😊👍
Whatever suits your systems Goerge. Great video how many bales would you need every year for milking herd dry stock heifers? Looks like you have no shortage of bales
Your going to have to look at our wrapping on my channel. Similar wrapper as yours with a power-packed on a trailer. Worth a thought for you. Stay safe 🏴 ps. Cracking news on the van 👏
I’ve been looking at our hay fields, half are growing but the grazed ones are struggling with out rain. We’ve had about 10mm in 3 weeks 🤦♂. Out of interest, how do you find the elephant nose grab over the cuddlers or roller type?
Why do you use different bale shapes for the straw? The Square and the round? I play FS22 too and like to try and do things as a British farmer would do.
Probably doing the right thing having plenty of silage in stock now with the fertilizer price being so high.Nothing wrong with the way you make your silage,if it ain't broke don't fix it.Good job.👍🚜
@@GeorgeSaunders Please educated me as i use haylage for my horses same bales but smells really nice and moist and sweet when opened. and silage is always piled up in bays covered with tarp straight after being cut, ?
George , have a look into the electric world. How much now to charge , how long to charge . How long does a charge last. How long does a battery last ? What's the greedy government going to do if alls 100% electric and boom there's no fuel duty and VAT rolling in. Guess where they will get it from , higher tax on EVs and watch energy prices rocket. Green electricity today is dearest green organic food is dearest . Get the picture 👍👍

Cheers buh, exactly that. It's been getting worse and worse. Now the new starter is fitted she's fine and seems to be holding her charge 👍

We got a Lely tornado a few years back a real game changer won't go back to wrapping at the stack .but what ever suits your system .
Bit fresh and soft grass for stacking that high! Bottom bales take serious pressure and can go in sh1t!
Look nice bsles george

Up in North of England we have had rain everyday for the last 10 days. And next week is looking the same which is just a pain in the arse 😂
Great video george, with prices rising you can sell a few bales too. Got the little combine ready yet? Glad your van lives on.

If it isn't broken don't fix it. Your way of baling silage works well for you. You can never have to much silage, it's as good as money in the bank.
Hi george how come you dont have a silage clamp or is having bails better for you
I’ve been looking at our hay fields, half are growing but the grazed ones are struggling with out rain. We’ve had about 10mm in 3 weeks 🤦♂. Out of interest, how do you find the elephant nose grab over the cuddlers or roller type?
I'am butting in
Difficult you have to leave cap between not easy on trailer or stacks
(Just my opinion)
There seems to be quite an inventory of bales in the yard. Will all of that hay be fed out before next spring ❓
Hi
from what hayteam tv said mchale have stopped making the deisel engined wrappers
How many years can you carry over silage or does the plastic wrap break down from the UV and the bales rot.
Why do you use different bale shapes for the straw? The Square and the round? I play FS22 too and like to try and do things as a British farmer would do.
Does maize do better in dryer weather? Curious as not a farmer but with the climate changing has grass had its day?
Update on the van... UPDATE on the Crawler... What's happening Georgie boy
Do them carpets go back in house at the end of season?
Will you actually use all the bales or you selling them for next winter
Any plans to tart up the old Deutz?
What came first. Bale wrap or the bale wrpper?
Hi mate
George would u ever get a 8330 fastrac

Any word on John, George?
why dont you stack the bales on there ends
How heavy are your bails? Not 500kg?
Last year's bales are going in the feeder wagon at between 700 and 800kg
@@GeorgeSaunders woah. They don't look it, but those are heavy. Good onya.

The future very questionable for sure. Fuel/gas prices food prices Shtf.
