- Personal remaster of one of my favorite sonic experiences. There are really so many layers of depth here. For educational purposes--free to be monetized by the original artists.
2020 version with better quality all around: • A.D. - Art Of The Stat... - Hudba
Throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, Kerry Livgren had been on top of the world. Guitarist, keyboardist, and principal composer for the rock super-group Kansas, he had everything the world says is important. But he was having religious discussions/debates on the tour bus with Jeff Pollard of Le Roux, Kansas' opening act. Livgren had studied everything from Hinduism to Urantia to Buddhism, and he was sure Christianity was not true...until Pollard carefully laid out the evidence over the months of their talks.
Livgren repented and was baptized. Eventually he wanted to have freedom to write Christian songs, so he left the fame and fortune of Kansas and started A.D. Unfortunately, he was still under contract with CBS Records. CBS did not want A.D. to compete with their super-group Kansas, so they refused to promote A.D., and they prevented the band from marketing to secular markets or media. In those days, Christian rock was still viewed with suspicion by much of the Church.
I think "Art Of The State" is one of the finest rock albums ever made. It's too bad almost no one has heard of it.
Nice little piece of research there my friend about my favorite band of all time Kansas...showing my age but have been a fan since 1975 when I was 20....how that was 48 years ago is beyond comprehension.
@@MrGarymola ancient history! 😄
(I'm probably the same age as you.)
@@FRN2013 ...funny thing is I still have some vivid memories of learning those songs in a band in the mid & late 70's
Got to hear AD in person in 1985 at the Victoria Theatre in downtown Dayton. I remember the band came out and chatted with people in the audience after the show. I was shocked at the accessibility these amazing musicians were giving average folk like me. But they knew that the One they sang of had given amazing and unprecedented access to them. They were just paying it forward.
Finally available on CZcams and remastered. It has elements of 70's prog and 80's pop. With in your face gospel lyrics. Kerry Livgren shows that his gift of composing music didn't end in Kansas.
Kerry Livgren's Magnum Opus, along with the great musicians and singers who made this work so well together!
It's happening!! Come QUICKLY LORD JESUS!
I just received this album as a Christmas gift. I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've had it since 1985. lol Still wearing it out.
This brought me joy that I desperately needed today. YAH bless.
God bless you, too!
I owned this cassette tape when I was a kid, and I played and played it till the tape broke, sad day back then.. but suddenly, out of the blue at random.. and I find this very album! Great day!! Thank you!
In my opinion, one of the greatest albums ever recorded.
Heartland slaps to this day nearly 40 years later

great sonic experience - one of a kind
My favorite album by kerry
Somebody needs to say something about Dennis Holt's monster drum skills.
One of my all-time favorite albums, ty Gardinia Project Collective 4 posting. My first time hearing the Fury was from the mainstage at the historic Cornerstone '85, my first, and a huge blessing to see Mr. classic Kansas himself #KerryLivgren ! And the crowd collectively lost its mind as soon as they began to play, #TheFury !
Also many hands' kudos to Mr. Kerry for finding Michael Gleason, with a vox range close to Steve's?
I would LOVE to experience the Cornerstone '85 show. I developed a technology to do that sort of thing with an implied integration of processes, though my written patent was stolen and my access to equipment was blocked. Part of why I haven't uploaded anything in a while. I adore Michael Gleason, Warren Ham, Dennis Holt, Dave Hope, and Kerry Livgren--A.D. is such a wonderful band with such wonderful music, and I longingly await the day Creation crashes into this static instance and opens up everybody's real true archive for full examination, investigation, exploration, transformation, and ultimately, enjoyment and love. It's here already, but until we as human beings and products of Creation acknowledge and embrace the Truth, we're only moving toward it instead experiencing the full totality of truly transforming our perception, understanding, application, and construction of life itself in the Lord's material wholeness. Yet, we are always moving toward it, on ANY perceptive timeline.
thanks for your time & enjoyment then. Yes was a great moment then. was there for it. won't forget it . yes was 85 that year , great year to see all bands. My time at Cornerstone Fest from 1984 thru 2003 minus 97 . thanks for everyone there thru those years. GOD bless everyone there . WE were BLESS to be of the Family of Body of CHRIST.
What about Warren Ham???
ALL CREATION SINGS HAIL THE KING 🤴 OF KINGS..song 🎵 🎶 says it all. ✌
Rock for the rock King J is the only way to the Master of creation

Indeed both singers coulda of been Kansas singers but Elefante was/is supernatural
Warren's my favourite of the three. They're all incredible. And then there's Steve Walsh...

@@edidpro Steve Walsh was a rare gift...truly beyond superlative like good or best.
