The Equity Benevolent Fund
Overnight in March, many thousands of entertainment industry workers lost their livelihoods. A great number of them fall through gaps in the government support schemes and have no means to provide for themselves or their families. Since the lockdown began, the Equity Benevolent Fund has been dealing with more than 250 claims per week for financial support from performers and creatives who cannot afford to pay for food, utilities or other essentials.
Equity has already publicly committed to boosting our Benevolent Fund to £1 million, but more is needed, and we are now asking audiences to help the people whose work they have enjoyed in cinemas, theatres, pubs, clubs, circuses, cruise ships, at festivals, events and parties, and continue to enjoy on TV, radio and online under lockdown.

Danny Miller, let the love of millions of fans who adore you become the wind beneath your wings! You have spoken in a down depressive mood and you have also mentioned in times past, the other side of the coin...which is panic attacks. As a person who suffered with panic attacks/depression for years, I have great news. The older you get the weaker the panic attacks become until they actually stop. CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) is what finally got me over the hump and I finally began to live without fear. Hang in there please and rest assured we fans will never let you down. You are our genius. (And needless to say, I sent in my donation.)
