I have this motherboard coupled with a i5-12400. Here's what I learnt so far that may help others. Asus Performance Enhancement unlocks the cpu's power limit. Which means it is free to use as much power as it likes. Unfortunately benchmarks have shown only a very slight performance increase with it on. However, heat and power consumption have gone up considerably. So it's good to enable this only if you have a good cooler, don't mind the increase electricity usage, and chasing every last bit of performance on this cpu. For gaming purposes, the i5-12400 already does fantastically well with its stock power limits. With Performance Core Ratio set to Auto, it seems to like to default to "Sync All Cores". What this means is that no matter what your cpu usage, all cores will have the same MHz. You can monitor this easily via HWMonitor. Whereas the other option "By Core Usage" allows each core to fluctuate according to cpu demands. For instance, if a program only requires 1 or 2 cores, then the other cores can chill out and reduce its MHz. If the program requires all cores, then all cores will try to maximize their MHz boost. This is what I have set it to myself.
If I didn't pause to read that text on the first power on, I wouldn't have ever known APE exists and does that (I also saw 4 GHz written for the very much 2.5 GHz 12400 inside). I wish that companies who make and sell pre-built computers would setup the BIOS with basic setting appropriate for the very beginner who doesn't even know what overclocking is, and not let me overclock my CPU with a stock cooler. Come to think about it, if that message appeared, does it mean they never even turned on the computer to see if it even works?
18:48 Erp Ready setting has nothing to do with "reduce power usage wherever possible". Basicly, it just lets you charge through usb ports when pc is turned off.

Intel creates this chipset and it’s unable to run i7/i9 & -K sku CPUs …. I know it was designed for office / school pcs …. But imo you’re better off spending the extra $£€10-15 for a B660 chipset and getting extra performance, VRM performance, more rear I/O ports etc
over here the b660 is still quite a big price jump from the h610, often double the price. I guess that is why the h610 and a320 type boards still do well in some regions

Hello friends, I bought this mother together with a 12 gen i3. and 16 gb ram, I can't get my disk to boot and I can't get usb to start with win10, I tried changing usb options, gpt etc. The installation never starts. Nor can I start any ssd or hd with windows preinstalled. No matter the file format or boot system/ bio. they appear as devices in the bios! HELP ! !!

great video. thanks for sharing. im unable to get past the pressing the on button. i have bought a brand new Asus H610m-k D4 - installed it all and assembled everything. did a power on check and the case lit up and all fans were spinning. noticed that a case fan was making a slight noise like a wire inside was touching it. switched it off. opened the side of the case. didnt touch anything. just started it up with the case door open so i could see what was making a noise in the fans, this time it fired for half a second and everything went off. mmmm.. wth .... disconnected everyting and reassembled from scratch to the point i was at before i took the side case off to inspect the fans and still wont fire up. ive done this hundreds of times with builds over the years but this one has got me stumped. i checked the power supply with the old motherboard that came out and it fired that up properly. im using a corsair 750m. i tried the motherboard on the table with just the cpu and cooler in place and one memory stick... nothing else attached no joy. fans spin for .5 of a second. is the motherboard goosed... ?? im in need of some help. i have not rang the company i bought it from yet as im hoping i can find some help elsewhere first. i have a grace period to work with. i hope you read this message and can offer something.. many thanks

@@bukandastin790 there are literally hundreds of models available around the world. i quite like the B660 range more as they offer a better spec board so if you want to upgrade the CPU later you can without worrying about the VRMs not being able to cope.

I'm using HDMI cable but my BIOS resolution is lower than my 1080p monitor although Windows resolution is perfect

probably down to the way the TV is decoding the UEFI BIOS signal

gen 4 is auto, the others are for down grading if the CPU or components don't like running the native speeds

if you have any component in the PC that isn't UEFI compatible then you will not be able to boot GPT. usually an older graphics card can cuase that

the only way i know of doing that is to press f11 on boot that will bring up boot options.

sounds like a short circuit or the USB front panel is not wired correctly

either are okay choices, but the h610 chipset and vrm is quite weak but but should be okay as long as you have reasonable cooling
