I hope to god it's not Wiccan because I think is a total miscast because the character is supposed to be Jewish and the actor is Catholic. Not to mention, Marvel, excuse me, Disney loves baiting in on the LGBT stuff and lying to fans to get butts in seats. I honestly would rather watch Heartstopper which you can tell that looks like a good show. Also the comics are really sweet and at least that's how you handle representation. I'm sorry but I hate how Marvel and Disney's been doing representation (I'm bisexual and I hated how they threw in the stuff about Loki).

Ok so I decided to rewatch this after getting back into my Heartstopper phase but I wanna appreciate how they didn’t make Charlie the full “soft boy” stereotype and give him some moments of snark and sass and he knows when to joke around. He isn’t just “Oh I’m just a sad soft introvert boy 😔” and feels like a real person-
Alice had the opportunity to make him one dimensional and boring but went above and beyond! I hope I can read more of her books when I get the chance

Joe Locke has some really beautiful under-appreciated silent moments in the show where he expresses so much in his face without ever overacting or being showy. One is in the scene where Nick is having his crisis and the other is in the scene where they kiss at the bowling alley - he just has this look of pure patience, understanding, and reassurance. And that scene with Tori is my favourite in the show. I'm so excited to see him tackle Charlie's difficult story ahead. Incredible that this is his first role!

He’s literally the embodiment of the sun. He’s one of my comfort characters too. He’s adorable, he’s funny, he’s sweet, he’s cute, and he’s the best character in hearstopper and no one can tell me otherwise.
As someone who also struggles with body dysmorphia and self harm to this day, i found alot of myself in charlie and found comfort in him.
I am so sorry that you're going through that. I don't have the exact same experience but I've thought about self harms before and have starved myself, so I find Charlie somewhat comforting too, due to because it makes me feel valid of how I feel. I know how it feels, it's the most guilty feeling in life and the show potrayed and showed it so well. I hope you'll recover soon sir/ma'am 🤝

Charlie is my favorite and he does so much for everyone else before him, that it makes me want to protect him all the time.

Even if I identify more with Nick when it comes to the discovering your sexuality part, definitely my favorite character in both the novels and the show is Charlie. Aside from the fact that I find him a very lovable character full of kindness, I think he is a very well-constructed character in terms of what happens after coming out and the long-term consequences of bullying. And for me Joe did a really good job bringing charlie to life especially in the dramatic parts like the scenes with ben and tori

Agreed. Charlie is the central character and the heart of the story. Nick does have his own storyline, but it's really Charlie's story we follow for the most part. I think season two will really be even more about Charlie, and Joe is going to slay. He has so much to go through in season 2.

Joe Locke rly needs to be appreciated as an actor since it was his first acting role and he portrayed the character SO perfectly! The timid, shy, “gay nerd”. Charlie needs more appreciation and love, he's such a sweet guy! Please give him as much love you give Nick and Kit Conner.

It's barely a whole day out and I've already seen a strong preference for Kit's (outstanding!) performance from a lot of people who don't recognize how touching Joe's Charlie portrayal is. Raw emotional anguish hidden behind his wish to be perfect and patient. He's giving up on his own physical, psychological and emotional well being to get everything perfect for his boyfriend who he loves and cares for more than anything. He truly is the nicest person ever.
