Hello everyone and welcome to another adventure.
In this episode I return to the Isle of May in Scotland to photograph Puffins. I come away with some great shots.

We got car, boat and a trek across the island. I knew we were in for a treat when you were flat on the ground😊 All the photos you took were unique and beautiful. I couldn't pick a favorite

Class shots of Puffins.Can you please share details of tour operator who arranges trip to isle of May from Edinburgh ,expecially to the habitat of sea birds and marine wildlife?

what time of year were you there?
Do you know how would it be at early month of may? I've read the muffins start to arrive in April.

Great and informative video, also your pictures are amazing. Which lens did you use, is it the Sony 200-600? I'm planning a trip to Ireland at the end of May and would also love to photograph puffins. I was wondering if a 70-200 with a 2x extender would be sufficient to photograph them.
This would be good yeah. You can get pretty close to them but it depends on the area too
is there a best time of the day to visit. The boats out of anstruther are tidally constraint so the arrival times to the island vary greatly. I have never been but would love to visit. Many thanks in advance.
The boats are very tide dependant indeed. I’ve made a couple of vides from different times. The website will have better info but I know that if you go mid/late season the adults will be fishing more to feed the chicks and you can get shots with the same eels in their beaks
Hi planning to visit the area but what time is best for the island? May or April? or June?
Hi there. The best info is maybe on the Scottish Seabird website but from experience if you go a little later in the season when the chicks have hatched you will have more chance to see Puffins with beaks full of sand eels.

Sure thing. This was all on the Sony 200-600
i have a 18-200 f3.5-5.6 canon lens. do you reckon it will be enough for this type of photography?

Thanks Ian. To be honest the Isle of May is the only place I’ve been to shoot puffins. There are thousands there!!! The trips from North Berwick tend to book up fast tho. Either way I hope you see them !

@@AndrewMacdonaldPhotography Superb video and channel. Should have way more views than it does... I'm also interested in your bag and gear and how you pack it, what you take and how you have it all set up for easy access when quick photo opportunities arise. You could maybe do a 'how you pack' or 'whats in your bag' type videos. Also, you should come to Shetland to see our puffins too!
