This makes me realize that fire fights in WW2 is not that much different than those helmet cam footage we see nowadays. Just the uniforms and equipment are the only things that differentiate the combat
I think it's because the only time we see WW2 combat is either in black in white footage, movies, television, and or our imaginations. We have certain expectations of what it should look like, and then seeing this we realize it's all too real.
Maybe for infantry but technology is so different. The methods that we use to fight are very different. We are definitely more affective now.
It's so refreshing to have George aware of that shooting from outside and take the hit. Not every day people will just do that in a reenactment.

I love the difference between your mate "s** im dead" and the German that went full on "aaaaahhh" 😂.
A great vid!
As a German at this event I can offer some insight into what was going on on the other side.
No idea why the HQ was left unguarded, my comrades and I, thought it was pretty foolish. We were ambushed constantly by you guys trying to take that town, so nice defense!
The reason the German declared you dead was because no one had grenades to throw in there, and in talking to the halftrack, they told us that they had fired their 37 mm at the building several times, and also told us you just weren't taking your hits.
As an American that was also defending that town, it’s really hard to tell when one of your big pieces like the marder or the halftrack shot at the building when we don’t have clean line of sight of said vehicle. You should really only shoot at people that you have made eye contact with since then they know you are shooting at them. If not, people are going to assume you are shooting at someone else since they want to stay in the game. Just my experience I’ve seen at tacticals
@@ryansharpe3564 I agree, I am not a fan of big guns at tacticals because its hard to tell if it's shooting at you if you are in cover.
Thanks for honoring the people who fought. Your videos make me feel closer to them. Great job in that you were really trying to stay alive, yet do your duty! Really respect the way you keep history alive. My dad fought in the war, you do him a good service.

Man, I practice airsoft in Brazil and this video left me with many doubts.
How do you know you hit the opponent? what kind of ammo do you use in your guns? I found your video and this type of activity sensational.
A big hug for you!
If the enemy sees you firing blanks then they can choose to die
They use blank rounds which dont fire anything
The sounds where horrifying! Great video!
Excuse my ignorance, but how does one know that you have been hit or killed in this type of game? The sounds are great, and I thought that the "weaponry" shot something, for example airsoft bbs, but since I saw that no one was wearing goggles, I was left with this doubt. How do you know that you hit someone or were hit?

MPX training ammo would make these re-enactments less confusing because then people would know that they were hit

Awesome video! I'm definitely trying to do some WW2 reenactment myself!
How do you tell if your hit? I'm new to re-enactments and I know you use blanks but how do you tell if you've been hit?
Ya make it up, get hit whenever, or if you think you would of gotten shot, I got this info from many comments
If a shot is fired in your direction you choose when you've been hit, it's not as much a game where you must shoot accurately, but to provide an interesting experience for spectators or in this case, fellow re-enactors.
@@NBH-xh3nq thanks for the answer
It's a shame they don't somehow incorporate some electronics in with it to decide if a hit has taken place or not.
Would love to see low powered rubber rounds so that at least you know if you’ve been hit.
This seems really fun but just shooting blanks seems a bit underwhelming
I got a good question, how can someone enlist in a reenactment? What does it take because this looks fun and full of history!
Even though this is a Re-enactment, the thought that kept repeating itself was at the beginning finding a stockpile of German supplies. A healthy sense of paranoia would ring in my head that the building could have been rigged to explode. Especially when coming across something that is too easy to take.
8:58 "there's probably a baker company guy and-"

Seems like reenacting with real guns. I hope accidents never happening with misusing ammunitions. Stay safe and make good movies!
they're blank firing guns, if you tried to load a real bullet into them they would jam due to the chamber not being big enough for a real bullet to fit, only the crimped end of a blank casing
@@rightaxlebroken4835how do they know if they get shot like there r no projectiles i suppose

Yeah but to just call it out instead of letting them “fight” it out was weird.
Like ending a football game early like “yeah, you probably scored again but we would’ve too so we’d have still won.. GG, lads”
This is so cool because this is literally what my great-grandfather did in WW2 after he survived D-Day. The only difference is that he liberated Concentration Camps. Love the videos and keep up the good work.
imagine bringing a gun with real ammo instead of blanks
Whoa this seems awesome! How do you enter re-enactments and what are the requirements?
Learn what area of history you want to re - enact. Study the details, and decide what fits your physical abilities. Finding roles for military or civilian is the next step. Many re=enactment groups would welcome new members, if you can handle the discipline to do it, in a way, of honoring those of that era.

@@kre1187 That’s cool! How many people were apart of it?
@@BlackHole171 There's around 1500 reenactors on average I believe. They limit spectators to 10k per day. Not too sure on that number, but pre-covid we only did the beach landing on one day (Saturday) and well over 30k people would try to cram in to watch it. We now do the landing every day of the event to help alleviate that. It's an absolutely massive event.
Have you done D-Day at Conneaut OH yet? I like the setting for this video. I do WW2 British Army and RAF, different units because there are so few Brits in my area. Love your videos man, keep it up. We do this type of thing at Newville PA. There is an Italian Campaign event every February. I also do the Great War event there usually in April and November.
The " boom boom" sound was awsome you made
How do you know if you’re hit? And how does the rounds, RPG, and nades work?
So, how do you get involved in something like this? Do you provide your own gear, or is it rented? This is so dope. I would absolutely love to be a part of this. If anyone has any information pls let me know.
You have to buy ALL your gear and its not cheap
You would typically find a unit to join and they might give you some gear to start, but typically you have to buy it all, and it isn't cheap. Because these weapons are fairly rare now, good condition M1 Garands and 98k's can often go for over $1000. I personally recommend finding a British unit because everything is cheaper and it's more unique than everyone and their mother doing Rangers or Airborne on the Allied side.
