3 reasons why Adya should win II14:
1. Very powerful emotional connection through her songs - not just technical mastery (which she has). E.g. the sense of nostalgia she creates with “Sun mere bandhu re” is unique.
2. Comfort with wide range of genres (pop songs, folk songs, thumri, ghazal - Shreya brought this point about her versatility to the forefront). E.g. from “chane ke khet mein” and “bidi jalaay le” to “ye dil ye paagal dil mera” and “dil ke armaan”.
3. Unique voice quality. She’s one of a kind in this regard.
And can we give her some kudos for the sheer joy and confidence she exudes on the stage.
Lastly, whether she wins or not, she has left an indelible mark on the singing scene. Shekhar has already recorded her song through his Garuda studio (if I got the facts right). So whether she wins II14 or not, she has already won our hearts and minds.

So well articulated, I could not say it better though I am a huge fan of Adya.
Re her versatility, I would like to point out that she is the only singer who has sung a very wide genre of songs and singers compared with the other contestants. Esp. singers: Rekha Bharadwaj, Salma Agha, Reshma on the one side and SD Burman, Atif Aslam and Ghulam Ali on the other.
I agree with you. Whether she wins the competition or not or whether she moves up to the Grand Finale, she has left a pretty strong impression on all her listeners, spl guests and the judges. I feel we will see (and hear) a lot more from her in the coming years.
