    My second bike is a 2 stroke KTM 250.
    I still need to get the set up just right for me, but I do love this bike. It is, shall one say, a little 'interesting,' the power band is very sharp (one could settle it down a bit, but honestly I find it makes it more exciting lol)
    Whisky throttle is a risk that one needs to be aware of haha, its caught me out in the past. (I found trees don't move that day, but luckily I'm still young enough to bounce well!)

      Yep, most people are afraid of whiskey throttle, but it sounds like you're pretty adventurous and with little fear!

    LOVE this video thank you!
    I'm torn. I use to have a enduro bike probably 20 years ago. A KDX 200 I believe it was. I wasn't great, but I didn't suck at it. But it's been a LONG time! I'm the same height as your wife, with a approximate 31 inch inseam. Do I go small, big, or full of the KLX? My plan is easy going old forest roads. Maybe open her up where I feel safe. Any imput/advice appreciated! And I'm confused I thought there were 2 KLX models, the L and the G. There's 3? 😁

      Thanks, and you're welcome! What did you find most interesting about this video?
      Hard to say which you would like the best. Yes, there's the standard small wheel, large wheel, and full size KLX140 models. (Here's my article on it: motocrosshideout.com/klx140/ )
      If you already have some experience, then I'd recommend sitting on and testing the full-size KLX140 (used to be the G but is now the 140R F...)
      Or, if you want a little more power with EFI and don't mind some extra weight, the KLX230R is a good choice - there's an "S" model that's slightly lower if you can afford a new bike, but you can save hundreds on buying used.
      Does that make sense?

      YES! Thank you for responding. I ended up getting a 2021 KLX140 L. A tad small maybe. Both feet flat on ground. But it was a awesome deal and hardly used and I know I can probably sell it no problem when I'm ready to step up to another bike. OR maybe I'll just keep it, lol. Thank you for the videos. Keep them coming! :-) @@MotocrossHideout

      I would look into CRF 150f I have one and I’m looking to upgrade cause I want a race bike but I love my crf150 f 2006, electric start, not to much power but still good, easy to keep up, don’t have to worry about over heating

    I have a crf150f , I enjoy riding trails and doing woods races, but I’m really looking for an upgrade I don’t want a full size bike but at the same time I want something with good suspension, (I’ve considered a crf250f) but I’m thinking about trying a crf250r, I really want to stick to 4 strokes.but there is not manny options out there

    • @MotocrossHideout
      @MotocrossHideout  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Nice, so unfortunately there aren't many bikes with good suspension for woods riding that aren't full size. There's a HUGE difference between the Honda 250F and 250R - the 250R is a tall motocross bike with very snappy power and stiff suspension for jumping.
      The CRF250F would be a nice upgrade compared to your CRF150F, but a little on the heavy side.
      I know you prefer 4 strokes, but have you considered the Beta XTrainer or 200RR?

      @@MotocrossHideout Yes actually I have really thought about betas but you can’t find one used, there is only one dealer around here that sells them and they are expensive 😂 also whatever it is has to have electric start

    • @MotocrossHideout

      @@wonderingvoice3563 Gotcha, yeah the CRF250F, KLX230R, and TTR230 are an upgrade compared to your CRF150F. I wouldn't consider them to have "great suspension", but it's probably slightly better than what you currently have.

    Rode a 110 yesterday for the first time, super addicting feeling and I got the itch to ride! My knees were uncomfortably high and I was thinking maybe a 125 might be a better start? (Not thinking about any specific companies yet) I’m 5’5 120IBS, still need to learn how to actually ride efficiently but I definitely want a 4 stroke. I don’t want a full sized bike any time soon, just lookin to take it easy and cruise. Any recommendations for a budget bike?

    300cc 2 stoke is way to much for a beginner let alone a female wanting to step up. A 150cc to 200cc 2 stroke is plenty enough power even then a 85 -112 - 125cc 2 stroken is a pretty big jump from a klx140 or a crf125 4strole especially if they haven't ridden a bike with power band before. i do agree with you on that a 125 140cc 4stroke is a good first bike . I just dont see why a female who's just learnt to ride let a lone a male thats just jumped of a 125 or 140cc 4stroke has any business on a 300 2-stroke im not saying it isn't possible iv been riding cr250 cr500 and xr650r sine i was 13 but iv ridden my hole life. Im just saying a 300cc 2stroke is a big jump for any one. Its takes a proper professional to be able to fully handle the bike to its full potential and is not for the faint-hearted it's a bit like jumping from a corolla to a Lamborghini. This is for any female out there wondering and could be a massive disaster in the making jumping from a 125/140cc for stroke to a 300 2stroke i would start off on a 85cc and see if you like the powerband and get a feel for it 1st and then mybe jumping up to a 125cc 2stroke or a 200cc 2 stroke before buying a 300 because the 300 is going to be 300x Fast and more powerfull and unpredictable then a 125/140cc air cooled 4 stroke it would even be a jump from a 250cc water cooled 4stroke hope this helps some one make the right decision

    • @MotocrossHideout
      @MotocrossHideout  Před 24 dny

      Yep, that's why I said I don't recommend a 2 stroke for beginners.
      I only recommended the Beta 200 or 300 XTrainer to experienced riders. They're not nearly as aggressive as a KTM 300, for example.
      I should've been more specific on what "more experienced riders" means, but to me it sounds like you took my recommendations out of context. I gave different bikes for different sizes and skill levels of female riders.
      As for an 85cc, I think that's a bad decision unless you're racing MX because the power curve is like a lightswitch that's unpredictable to newer riders. The 200 would be easier to ride aside from the seat height due to its smoother power characteristics.

      Hey Rachel, thanks for asking! What's your budget and what kind of riding will you be doing? Then I can give you a better recommendation 😉
