#MikesBookReviews #bookshelf #bookshelftour - Zábava
Financial books have been so helpful. I’m 54 and my wife 50 we are both retired with over $3 million in net worth and no debts. Currently living smart and frugal with our money. No longer putting blames on FED for our misfortunes. Saving and investing lifestyle in the stock market made it possible for us this early, even till now we earn weekly.
May I ask which investments are good? I've been looking at a few different ones but want others' opinions as well!!
*ROCHELLE DUNGCA-SCHREIBER,* That's whom i work with
What I think everyone need is a Financial Adviser, who can help you get in and out of any investment at any time and you'd sure be in Profit
is ROCHELLE DUNGCA-SCHREIBER on youtube? please how do i reach her!!
Thanks so much. I was able to find her page and I already leave her a message.
Hey Bookworms! Yes, I know I had Well of Ascension and Hero of Ages flipped. It wasn't brought to my attention until after I had recorded. Everything will be okay...the Cosmere is back in balance again. Thanks for watching!
;)
I will never get tired of updated bookshelf tours; I like seeing readers update and showing off their collection.
Thanks for hanging!
Cool😊
Now we need your top 50 books of all time.
"I do everything on my excel spreadsheets, to be honest" might be the most 'Mike' thing I've ever heard
I excel spreadsheet my kids Christmas lists.
Wow, that is one impressive collection of books. And your shelves look great!!
Gracias!
Your shelves are so free of dust!
I guess he cleans the shelves often
Swiffer is magic.
@@mikesbookreviews thanks 🙂
This was the best and most interesting "bookshelf tour" video I've ever seen, and it's probably for two reasons (1) your organizational skills are a joy to witness, and (2) the music kept tricking me into thinking something exciting was happening, like in a movie. Well done!
Really nice room. I also love that clock.
Your wife's creations are so cute. It's great that she support your interests!
This was the most epic bookshelf/office tour ever! You must feel so at home while working in there, really really awesome!! I've always been so curious what the whole space looked like!
You’ve got a real treat when you get to Lonesome Dove, I’ve read it three times, it’s an all time favorite. Also, so cool to see your illustrated Gormenghast trilogy, fantastic series and tragic story of an author we lost too soon.
I'm definitely interested in both.
You prob won’t see this but something to help with your lack of space issue ……I used to have those black billy bookcases for my library. But if you measure the wooden space of where one ends and another begins you lose 1-1/2” to almost 2” of book space. I had 4 of them butted up together and I found I lost almost 5’ of prime book space. I ended up getting shelves that are just open ended and put 3 of those together and idk how it happened but I ended up opening 12’ of book space. Not to mention I can still run a long shelf above it to add an additional 9’. Hope that all makes sense.
Basically what I’m saying is it’s not always the room in which you have your books in, it’s how they’re being stored
Mike you are my inspiration! I am currently building out my library and purchasing some new shelves. I just got my Folio Society of Dune and it is amazing!
Awesome! I loved watching this tour of your bookshelves and room.
Awesome tour! I just love the quality of your books and the organization of your shelves. A thing of beauty!
so jealous of your shelves! they look amazing! i only have a couple shelves right now because i just don't have space in my home for more without throwing out my refrigerator or other "necessary" household items, lol. i borrow from the library a lot, but it's my dream to have a whole reading room lined with shelves + a cozy chair in the corner. :)
I just purchased all the Elric omnibus books too, I plan to read them soon, hope they are on your 2023 TBR!
I'll probably do like I did with Conan and just do a little at a time.
At 1000 books you have a library, according to some pretentious journalist from The NY Times. You’re so close!
2023 will be the year, methinks.
It's funny how humans like numbers like that, why not 987? It's just as arbitrary and probably more random than the most likely biased 1000.
Lol I read 2000 is a library
Haven't even started watching yet and I am already squealing with excitement! Been wanting to see this for a while now
Hope it lived up to expectations.
@@mikesbookreviews surpassed them, wonderful collection!
Mike you did a great job on this. Well done as a video as well as a collection!
Very epic! Looks fantastic!
Hi 👋 wow 😮 you got some amazing books on ur shelf!! Happy reading to you!! 🎥🎞⚔️📽
Simply amazing!
So satisfying! Well done.
Loved this bookshelf tour! Of course, the more books the better, but also awesome to see all of your merch!
Will
I'm in the toddler phase of parenting, so I'm just living my bookshelf dreams vicariously through your spotless shelves
Read the Bone Ships! I happened to finish the trilogy just an hour or so before watching this video. I haven't been more emotionally affected by the ending of a series in a long time as this one. It is set mostly at sea, which I know isn't a selling point for you, but the characters are some of the best I've read in a long time, and the emotional highs and lows of the series are tough to see matched anywhere else.
Mmmm.... Those carpet lines... Thanks for cleaning before bringing the world into your home. Love your personal takes on things and you are great at connecting with people without feeling fake. Always appreciate you being open.
Heh. I have a black lab. I have to vacuum 2 or 3 times per week just to keep up.
@@mikesbookreviews ahhh! It all makes sense now. From one black haired dog owner to another... I feel your pain.
Thank you for the peek behind the curtain. Glad I could join the live stream
Amazing video and crazy collection too, I'm so pumped to get my shattered sea trilogy, red rising books and faithful and the fallen, just ordered them from Amazon. Hope one day I can get a collection like yours, keep up the good work
Love the editing flourishes on the video!
SO jealous of your collection!!! Awesome!
Thank you for doing this dude
Your shelves are amazing! Also, thank you for including The Altar of My Fate, The Spiral of My Destiny, and The Third Way of My God!
My pleasure!
I wish i had a library like this; great video!
I just finished the Chakraborty triliogy. I read each book in one night over 2 weekends. I highly enjoyed them. They aren't perfect, and I'm not sure they're your taste, but it was a breath of fresh air in the fantasy genre for me. I just let myself go along for the magic ride and enjoyed something that wasn't western culture oriented. Great fun. I will say I think the character are very well-written. My only quibble is that one is written in a way that you think you might should be more sympathetic toward but I remained unswayed. If I were 14, maybe. But as an adult, no way. LOL
Amazing video Mike, that is some collection. hopefully i get to that level some day!
Metal lunch boxes! Yes! Mine was a Peanuts lunchbox.
Those things were a bullying equalizer
@@mikesbookreviews HA!
I just bought Tad Williams’ Otherland series in hard cover. One of my favorite reads second to WoT back in the late 90’s!
I've got the same desk! Always fun the recognize that kinda stuff lol
When you said send me a shelfie -LOL! I haven't heard shelfie before. Toward the end of your tour with your stacks of books, I was happy to see that. That's how my library looks. I saw Abandon by Blake Crouch on your shelf - I don't want to oversell it, but it's a fast and fun thriller-horror-mystery, great for a winter weekend.
That was fun, thanks!
Very impressive! Cheers!
A beautiful library!!!
Awesome shelves / books! Great organization and displays. I've never counted mine, but we're probably comparable in number. However I only acquire them when I plan to read them soon, so no physical TBR really.
Hey, I saw Rogue Squadron hiding there. Here's your monthly reminder that you will certainly enjoy it. The EU is canon forever.
Wow. Just wow
RUN by Blake crouch Is a great book! Glad to see a someone has a collection of his work, I have almost all of his books. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome collection! I noticed my favorite story of all time, The Belgariad buried off to the side there, I hope Mike can read those soon, I would love to hear his thoughts on it.
Cool book collection Mike 😎📚📖
The expanse is what got me into scifi! Now im reading Project Hail Mary!
I don't know half the books here but it looks amazing! 💗💗
Very nice!!
I love the random Monty Python Holy Grail quote! One of my favorite movies
I figured since the Lady of the Lake features in the Witcher series it was appropriate placement.
@@mikesbookreviews oh my gosh! That's great. I didn't catch that during the video
900? Gotta pump those numbers up. Those are rookie numbers in this racket.
Cheers, cool room and collection!
Ha. If I included all the books I've gifted or donated, those numbers would be stupid.
Ever thought of a book cart, since you don’t have room for another shelve in there.
I hadn't until now.
I’m 18 and I had a metal lunch box back in the day. It was retro Marvel.
Was so cool to see the Neil deGrasse Tyson book, as an Physics Major I've read most of his books and loved them all!
Dude!!! Only you could make a 30+ minute bookshelf tour feel like just a couple minutes....Thanks for showing, really enjoyed.
Nice collection! 😊❤📚
Great video tour
I’ve been waiting for this!
Shrike poster is Epic 😁
Well done
I didn't think I'd ever forget that I already had a book, but I was at the library and saw the Phoenix Unchained series; by Mercedes Lackey; but they didn't have book 1, so I skipped it. Just the other day, I was doing some dusting of my shelves, and there it was; book one of The Phoenix Unchained. There is a 30th anniversary edition of Snow Crush out, that's a beautiful collectable book as well as being an interesting read.
Ha ha I tore this place apart looking for that book
I've always thought of reading some Star Wars books. But there are so many that it's overwhelming trying to figure out where to start. And I'm sure some are better written than others.
I didn't know you haven't read the Powder Mage Trilogy yet! To me, its like Joe Abercrombie meets Brandan Sanderson. LOVE YOUR collection! I need mine to look like yours and Brian Lee Durfees! haha
I like what you do with the Funko. I have a Funko Velociraptor guarding my 1993 movie tie-in Jurassic Park book along with the rest of my Jurassic Park books. Hey Mike I would love to hear your review on Neuromancer, which that book has been sitting on my shelf for a few years waiting to be read.
Yep, you know you have a lot of books when you discover a book you thought you lost! Been there lol
Amazing video tour. Now I know what heaven looks like.
I need that First Law art!
I envied the book collections that you have. Sana all .
Very nice collection. I can't see well enough to read physical books... so about all of those I have are the Harry Potter first editions, which I got through by squinting, eye strain, and headaches. But my digital library is over 200 and growing.
Digital books count.
Love this. I think your solution would be floor to ceiling book shelves look at all the real estate you're missing out on haha
Holy great bookshelf Batman!!!
I've read Shogun. It's awesome historical fiction. Basically a European is plopped down during the Tokugawa rebellion in Japan, although names are changed. I highly recommend it.
I can’t speak for the other sequels, but Speaker for the Dead is not just a great follow up to Ender’s Game, it’s one of my favorite sci-fi novels of all time. Such a wonderful read!
Speaker for the Dead is amazing! I was so excited to read the sequel but unfortunately I was very disappointed in Xenocide
I see that Temeraire at 4:40! My favourite fantasy series of all time. 🐉🐲
Holy shit, I’ve been watching your videos for some time and never noticed you lived in Cypress! I grew up here and moved back after college. Love the content!
Idk if you use the closet in that room but you could put some shelves in there to put book in.
How do you keep track of all the collections to buy new ones? An excel sheet maybe?
you really really should read lonesome dove it’s an amazing story. my grandpa made me read it and at first i thought it would be boring but it’s not. it’s so amazing. it is my second favorite book of all time, just behind IT
It’s in the 2023 plans.
Thanks Mike. Very jealous!
so many of your books i have on my wishlist and im too poor to get them lol very jelly!
Shogun. Top 5 read. Read the whole Asian Saga which continues the story, but Shogun was amazing. Simply no regrets.
impressive 🤩
nice collection
I think the book that I hated the most that I was forced to read for college was Dante's Inferno. If you got something out of it, you're a better man than me...(literally, cuz I'm not a man. lol). Great shelfs. I love how much of your family is represented in your hobby. Great job!
Ha ha it's a tough read but definitely left some things in my mind.
What, read cursed child!! For the fun 😂. It will take around a day, it's not long
Your wife crocheted that Yoda for you ❤️❤️❤️
Yep. She's a wizard.
I hope you do reviews or even a read along of the Thomas Covenant books, at least the first trilogy. I am also wondering about that specific paperback set you have. I just ordered box set of the trade paperbacks for books 1-3 over 40 years old still in the shrink wrap, and I wonder how those new sets compare for reading.
And now i have inspiration for whenever i get my own place again and decide to create my library. As for your video: im in love. Though, as the hard core Anne Roce fan boy, would recommend putting The Mummy after Queen of the Damned (given her entire multiverse, that novel fits in between Damned and Body Theif as a way of fiving some light after the vampire smackdown in Queen plus to elaborte on what a certain vampire in Lestat said when he mentioned knowing Ramses; if Sanderson fans can go juts over Well and Age being misplaced, then i might as well throw the ghost of Rice a bone as well).
Note for the people: dont take my posts all that serious, one of the few times i can geek out over this so might as well be the annoying fan boy. Lol
IF YOU LOVE ENDER'S GAME I REALLY THINK YOU'LL LOVE ENDER'S SHADOW AT A MINIMUM :) Sorry for yelling but I love ES so much :) As someone who's read them all I also think you'll love Speaker for the Dead but otherwise the other are more middling to me but those 3 are A++ :) Beautiful shelves!
Mike, have you seen the new Interview with the Vampire series that just came out? I haven't read the books myself (definitely planning on it now though) so I can't comment on how faithful it is, but I must say it's one of the best shows this year. Incredibly well done.
Nah, the trailer alone made me think it wasn't for book fans.
Hey Mike! I enjoy watching your videos. If you liked Ender’s Game, I think you’ll equally enjoy Ender’s Shadow. Bean is a highly intelligent, quiet, and deep thinking individual. It parallels the timeline of Ender’s Game which was also neat for me.
Oh shit, nice to see another SHSU alumni. Go Kats!
Awesome video, thank you. Again though, still no Terry Pratchett....hopefully someday...)
You should read REDWALL! Its a classic
you gotta read Speaker for the Dead in the Ender's Game series, it's a must read
Nice collection man! Where did you get your actual shelves from? They look sooooo good and I need some new shelves for my books
I am SO stealing your Styrofoam hack!
