I prefer this h2 design and size to h5 and h7,l wish it had dual dac like everything else.Not sure how a single dac would compete soundwise in today's markets.😅

It can compete, as long as its well implemented, the UA4 is single dac and its one my fave dongles of all time with its clean balance tuning will not add color, ample sound stage.

My H2 should arrive any day now, I'm just waiting for the answer to the question! - What's the sound like? Do you have anything to compare it to? For example, with UA4?

Shanling H2 shares almost identical tuning with the UA4 except that the H2 has a tad more treble extension which pulls in more detail and sparkle compared to the ua4. H2 has a single Cirrus logic CS43198 dac chip compared to the newer double es9069Q the ua4 have, but with how shanling implemented and tuned the H2 which gives it almost identical sq with the ua4 and similar sound stage. And the build quality and design is exceptional love how they use the 2 wheels to control volume and the other to navigate tracks. This is the only dongle i know that have local micro sdcard playback, a true jack of all trades, its a bluetooth dac amp, usb dongle dac amp and a dap. 🙂 👍👍🍍

Having the same chip with Q11 it sounds dynamic and musical. But the KA5 with twin chips sounds much more organic (with non os and AB mode turned on).
