I can relate - Went to Disney about 20 years ago, still remember the "tower of terror" ride, if nothing more than for me being shook for hours after the ride was over. Good times
My gf wanted to go to Disney, so we did. We didn't know what 'tower of terror' was. As we were going through those halls I've seen warning signs about people who have weak heart should not attend, etc. I was like, huh. Okay. That feeling when we sat into that lift and had to buckle up .. heh. It was fun but that was the first time I said I didn't want to go to any other crazy roller coasters, even those smaller ones for kids. I really don't need that in my life.

My first roller coaster ever was the NightHawk at Carowinds NC/SC. I knew it was upside down, but I didn’t know it was hanging from the coaster diving all over the place. I remember being so scared that I didn’t make a single sound. Also, it was the first ride of the day, and it was raining. That was five years ago and I only been to Carowinds once, but the only roller coasters there I haven’t been on is the Fury and the Copperhead. Reason why mom and I didn’t go on the Fury: It was raining, so the clouds were low in the sky, and we watched one of the cars disappear in the clouds on the highest point, and it only had those lap belts plastic things.
Just watching this gave me serious anxiety 😱
In the early 1960s, I remember our first trip to Disneyland....& sitting in the front car on the Matterhorn with my mom. I can't recall if she was screaming or not.....but I know it traumatized me enough that I avoided roller coasters for about 10 years after that.
