  • Primary schoolchildren met their heroes the Red Arrows at Bournemouth Air Festival after winning a competition to design a paper aeroplane. 🚀
The six children from Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole met the world-famous RAF pilots as part of a bid to inspire the next generation of engineers in the area. đŸ€©đŸŒŸ
Red Arrows Wing Commander Adam Collins said he was impressed by the paper aeroplanes, how creative they were and how some of them related to the coastline on which the festival is based.
At the end of the meeting the pilots flew the planes and took questions from the children about what it took to be a Red Arrows’ pilot and how it felt to fly a Red Arrow plane.
If you have a budding engineer in the family take them to this year’s Ultra Energy STEM Village (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), which features exciting demonstrations from local STEM companies. 🚀
