Thank you! Lovely pieces indeed! And not really easy, although it sounds maybe like that...but to let it roll along smoothly and nicely is always a challenge.
Thanks again, kindest regards! Simon 🎹👌🏻

@@simonvanthoff In any case! I never thought they were simple pieces! 😅 Warm greetings! 💫

Ah your teacher also has an Eterna piano?
This Eterna, in my classroom, is just a very simple one, but still it has a magnificent regulated right pedal (dampers). Not that noticeable in this short jazzy piece I play on it now, for this upload, it would be more noticeable in a romantic piece, but still.
      Kind regards, Simon 🎹👍🏻

Thank you! And yes, it is! Very rewarding to play and study, especially also when you challenge yourself, while studying, to add some notes, licks, chords, or walking bass here or there: to make it sound more like an improvisation, so to speak, and to give it a little bit your own signature, so to speak.
Thanks for your nice comment! Kind regards, Simon 👍🏻🎹

@@simonvanthoff Yes, it's essential to have real talent and a very good technique to play anything Oscar Peterson wrote.

Thank you! The menuets, etudes and exercises by Peterson are all great to study, for the professional pianist as well as for serious students 👍🏻🎹💪🏻. They are great, small scaled, but many times not that easy pieces, even on this "slow" tempo that I am playing it here.

@@simonvanthoff Oscar Peterson played everything fast. Even when he played slow it was faster than many people find comfortable. However, no matter what speed he played at he had a knack for making it sound almost casual and lyrical.

@@mabdub yes, you're absolutely right. Oscar's musical powers were unbelievable.
Still, even to play it at this "slow" tempo nicely flowing and smooth is for many students, pianists or amateurs, already a great challenge and a great exercise. As, in fact, that's the case for every piece of music, of course! Here, though, the swing element makes it for many amateur players extra hard.
Greetings from The Netherlands! Simon 👍🏻🎹
