I remember watching the OG Red vs Blue videos for the first time way back then. I loved it. I really wanted to become a sponsor when they gave everyone the ability to do so, but I was a teen with no money to my name. I fell off RT for a while, then I came back for one of the extra life 24-hour streams. I remembered why I loved their content and fell in love with the community. I joined "First" back in 2018 and I am so happy to be a small part of this community.
Thank goodness they were able to get over this hump and thank you to the early subscribers who made it possible for these guys to keep creating content. I don't know where I would be without it.
And thank you, Mooncake, for making such wholesome videos reminding me why this community is so darn awesome.

Great video, really well done. I started to tear up thinking about the amazing memories i have because they took the risk to start rooster teeth. The only thing I can say is man life would suck if rooster teeth never happened

Yeah I remember back on early youtube if you had ads or asked for money via PayPal a ton of of comments would be giving them shit for it
I was expecting them to like almost accidentally set their house on fire or something hahaha
I say they did bc come back from school watching everything was great. I found them in 2008 then lost them was sad then found them again in 2012. The Minecraft video I love was the first one the button when michelle blow up everything
the budget part at 4:50 is almost accurate! the biggest issue rvb had was they almost blew up too quick! the bandwidth they needed for everybody to download each episode upon release (in those days there were no streaming, you downloaded the file to watch) and their servers kept crashing. so by the third episode they were paying $10k in server fees
what’s especially amazing about this is that this was before youtube, facebook, twitter, myspace just started months prior, so by the second episode it got around that fast by WORD OF MOUTH
my older sisters showed me rvb in season 2, how? not by looking it up on the internet in their phone. we went to my grandpas cabin for the weekend, they had a portable dvd player and a bootlegged burned cd with season 2 on it. that’s how stuff got around back then
burnie, geoff, and had pretty high up positions at their jobs, but how they were paying for the show a few episodes in was they put a donate button on the site. while burnie was out for lunch just after setting up the donate system “cash sound every donation” , his colleagues had to unplug his computer because it was making so much noise while he was gone.
donations were then changed to “sponsor” badges on the site

It's sad the community doesn't support them as much they make a new show and not all of the community gives it a chance they just rip it apart

It’s dying because now that they all got filthy rich they don’t care about what fans want. They made way too many dumb shows while ditching the classic beloved ones and the flopped miserably. They got too big and thought anything they made people would love but they were clearly wrong.
