- On this hunt, Torry is hunting southern Illinois with MFK Team member Joey Wirth. After locating coyotes in a small strip of timber between some freshly planted soybean fields, they move in and get ready for some action! A combination of howls, coyote social interaction sounds and pup distress on the MFK Diaphragms and Foxpro is all it takes to get a coyote howling in their face at only 5 yards. I'm in Marion county WV I've tried and tried I hear them but never see them set up down wind and before you know it wind changes directions and it's over even before I see them I'm about to hang it up on coyote hunting I've probably went 30 times or more and nothing hunt several different farms and public land and nothing
@@billreger2686 @Jamie Sloan only thing I can think of doing is setting up in an enclosed field box blind overlooking fields with a predator call and using thermal optics at night. Thats the only way to beat the wind and get a way better chance than sitting in the woods.

@@tccustomcalls Good luck. It's been shown that killing Coyote actually increases numbers. They are able to have more litters and larger numbers per litter when numbers are threatened. So unless you are eating the coyote or selling its pelt, you are really just killing them for fun and youtube notoriety.

We have a large Coyote den here in the suburbs of Knoxville, TN I’ve had a couple of adult males get into my fenced back yard but both met the same fate, Death from my German Shepherds. My neighbor tells the tale of standing on his back porch and seeing a coyote flying up into the air then disappearing behind my 7’ wooden fence before being thrown up into the air again. My German Shepherd ANGUS had broken its neck and was playing with its carcass. ANGUS weighed 143 pounds at the time and was obtained from the state police K9 breeder. He was very protective over my handicapped daughter. Once he passed we now have a female Eastern European DDR German Shepherd that was from herding stock. She was bred as a herding dog and bred to fight off and kill wolves. She is 105 pounds and fearless. She’s a true sable color and AKC. Registered as was ANGUS. She is also attached and protective of our handicapped daughter. I happened to be out of sight in our back yard when a large male coyote got into our yard. Misty does not bark or growl when she attacks. She just runs at full speed and then hits her target. She typically either breaks their neck or rips their throat open. The attack is extremely fast and violent. Scratch one coyote. The problem then is stopping her from tearing its stomach open and eating it. Once she’s made a kill you have to calm her down. I’ve taken her out for a walk near the den and you can hear the coyotes become agitated. I always go armed with my 1911 .45 with 230 grain serrated metal jacketed hollow points just in case one or more Coyotes is stupid enough to get too close to us.

Welcome to Illinois. Our yote's don't care if people are around, if they are wanting to be there they will be no matter what's around! We have them IN town and I live in a town of over 100,000 people in central Illinois.
I laughed when Joey shot. The coyote WAS at 5 yards, it's now at 10 yards after his face came into contact with all that lead. Great footage!!

I'm in North Carolina and there are several packs of coyotes around my house, but I have fields on every side of my house, and the coyotes are bigger than what I see in this video, I hear them calling all the time especially at night, I have 5 full-blooded pitbulls I try to keep close to the house at night
I thought all dog's were full of blood... except that yodel dog that he just emptied the blood out of that tennis ball size hole in it's head with that ammo!!! I got a dead coyote choke for my 12 gauge. What's the best shotshells for this type of choke on my benelli nova 12g? Keep in mind I don't have much money
Justin Horn if you’re looking for the best it’d be Apex tss 2’s or 4’s. For cheap shells that will get you by lead 4buck, BB’s, or T shot. You would need to pattern any of them through your choke to see how they perform. Hope that helps.
Between shooting coyotes off a bait pile in the winter and trapping i kill around a dozen coyotes every year. But ive never been able to call one in. Have you guys ever hunted coyotes in Maine? Im wondering if northeastern coyotes respond differently
We've got a buddy in Maine that piles them up with the MFK calls. They'll work anywhere.

Maybe on occasion under the right circumstances but it wouldn’t work very often. There’s just not enough volume to reach out.

The wind was mostly going from the coyote straight to us.
The answer is and always will be no. If he caught your wind it wouldn’t make any difference if you were wearing a scent lock suit, and took a bath in that stuff. It’s the biggest rip off in this business.

You guys habe just got me hooked on trying to smoke a yote with my crossbow since im no longer allowed to hunt with a firearm. We have alot of coyotes down here in Florida where i hunt and no one really tries to keep our coyotes in check down here on some of the WMA's i hunt on.
