25 minutes in, when Larry takes Blackbeards allies away for his hypothetical, saying that if Van Augur wasnt there hed fall into the ocean, But if Doc q wasnt there he wouldnt be up that high in the first place. So if it was a true scrap Law would have to set up something to get BB over that much water and Shambles him far up and away enough that he Couldn't just quake the coastline and Black Vortex enough debris towards himself to have platforms to float on.
His way of phrasing the "what would he pull out to save himself?" Is like which named attack is he going to use in that scenario, but his quake and Pull effects can be used like Foxxy stopping cannon balls, Foxxy doesnt have a named Ninjutsu attack that summons cannonballs for him to freeze, he can Slow and BB can improvise a quake fruit or darkness ability. He showed to have buildings in his infinite Depth, maybe he keeps trees logs and other things that float for Just such an occasion, not showing it off from the get like with Bonney and Conney in the Egghead flashback. Im with Seb on that one, Larry just likes being devils advocate, OR is Salty and just wants the series to be more like Naruto d:

The problem with these two is that Larry has bad takes, but hes a master at arguing and can make his take seem logical, although wrong. Seb usually has good takes, but cant argue nearly as good as Larry, so they just keep going back and forth😂

A big part of Blackbeard's strength is that he is a villain. He's the mirror to Luffy. You gotta powerscale his trickery along with everything else he has. That includes his adaptability and unfair advantage of fighting with his whole crew against one captain.
Why when people argue against Blackbeard they always dismiss/disregard the yami as just a cheap ability and don’t put it on the same pedestal as the gura?
Especially when the Yami is a pretty hard counter for pretty much all logia and even the Gura itself
Yami is more of a Defensive DF
Gura is more Offensive
Problem with yami yami not getting credit is that taking away devil fruit power from top tier people doesn't do much because of their haki and if we talk for real well we have seen in the story is that all the Blackbeard pirates are heavy devil fruit dependent and blackbeard himself said that too and if oda continue with blackbeard being heavily dependent on devil fruit till the end and at the end we see blackbeard boxing luffy with just basic haki and devil fruit it will be very bad writing from oda.

My question in the Law v. Black beard is: could Law make a scar on Shanks? I just remembered the conversation that Shanks and WB had. Shanks said he wasn't being careless when BB made him that scar.

Larry’s entire argument seems to be based on Blackbeard being above the ocean to begin with. But if we’re simply talking one being stronger than the other, Blackbeard being over the ocean shouldn’t be a part of the conversation to begin with. Yes, that is where they were when they fought in the plot, but for simply comparing strength, the terrain shouldn’t be a factor, with the possibility exception of a fishman fighting a non-fishman in the water. In this case though, Law and Blackbeard are both humans, and both devil fruit users, so Blackbeard being over the ocean already puts him at a significant disadvantage, and therefore shouldn’t be counted in the discussion of who is stronger. The discussion should begin the second Blackbeard lands in front of Law on the island.
All this being said, I actually agree with Larry. One on one, I think Law is stronger. I just don’t like the way he’s making his argument.

His first shock willie worked against Blackbeard because he didn’t know law could reach him from that distance, while he was flying on stronger. The second shock willie he blocked and then it was done. Larry is basing his whole argument in the fact that Blackbeard would drown if van auguer didn’t save him, but he forgets that if you them on equal footing(both on island, not blackbeard on a flying horse) blackbeard wins
