I need to correct myself about why low framerate happens with the large map in SCR specifically - thanks to all those who have pointed this out.
You don't really have to download the whole map when loading into the game - SCR uses StreamingEnabled, meaning only the area you are in is loaded for you, significantly reducing the number of parts being viewed and reducing occurrences of low framerate. However, what makes the size of the map cause low framerate is a floating point precision problem - in simple terms, positions of parts are located based on the world origin at Berrily, and Roblox can struggle to handle calculating position numbers of parts which are quite far away from the origin. This, in turn, causes higher CPU usage and makes the game run slower.
Essentially, they can't expand because they can't make the world go too far away from Berrily (the origin), but they can fill in the gaps and make use of what they have.

My theory is that Farleigh replaces the part of the port Benton loop as you can see the curve at end
If I have interpreted your theory correctly, you think that some WL trains will terminate at PB then loop back?

for optimization the developers can just load and unload areas of the map that the player or players are in this will greatly reduce the lag allowing a greater map size
However this doesn't work due to Roblox physics and graphics, you see, full graphics loads the ENTIRE map and 9 loads most of it and so on going down

that can work since ERLC did that.
@@Boypogikami132 `Streaming enabled does work but often doesn't if you move to fast so it would work but sometimes doesn't

I hope they expand the map cause it's still a bit small though being one of the biggest maps, but considering it is a train simulator, yeah it's a bit small
I'd like to offer my insight here. We use a built in Roblox system called StreamingEnabled, which allows the client to stream in and out different parts of the map, in turn reducing lag significantly. Therefore, the size of the map doesn't really matter anymore, and the only reason we are bringing a close to map expansions and new stations is so we can focus on other things, such as upgrading current scenery. Hope this helps.
Last time I checked, streaming enabled is in the SCR in game settings
The only issue SCR will eventually see is the floating point errors if expansion goes too far from 0, 0, 0
I don't think there's any intention to go quite that far enough out to cause those issues anyways though
The StreamingEnabled has an engine related issue, particularly when they are combined of custom ReplicationFocus and StreamingEnabled which causes the servers to suffer severe degradation of performance and ultimately freezes entirely, which exists since 2018 and IDK if Roblox fixed that issue
@@tenny_tenten My guess is that this issue has been solved. Reason for this is because I have not seen a "slow server" warning on the Roblox servers tab for a while now. Plus, Roblox is able to support 700 player servers and not lag (assuming 700 players don't join all at once). The ikea game is a great example of this.
You are correct that StreamingEnabled does require more work from the server, since it needs to constantly send part information to all the clients.
However, I think Roblox server is able to handle this load. What causes lag nowadays is either high ping or slow client
@@YouVidTuber SCR already faces a lot of floating point rounding issues - these start becoming noticeable in rendering at about 8192 studs in each axis. Given the game uses StreamingEnabled, this is by far the most significant boundary to expansion.
The best thing with 1.9,1.8 and 1.7 is that updating said areas or branches actually made the game less laggy so that was interesting.
There was one thing I had to disagree with, if SCR still exists in 5-10 years technology would of improved so much most devices would e able to handle a laggy SCR V1.6

This aged like milk especialy 4:50, Farleigh is a part of the Esterfield line, and James Street is now limited
This video made me realize, the reason they probably redid LC is because those City Thameslink platforms had to have had so many parts. I bet that LC was a major source of lag.
Either way new leighton is so much better, but they need to make LC and LW the only terminating stations.

I think that Farleigh might have a loop in the benton area like the Cathcart circle line in Glasgow, or it's between James Street and Esterfield, although 3 terminuses would be unrealistic but we need more routes for WL don't you think

It could become something like mind the gap, which has more than 100 stations but no big gap, like the one south of Morgantown and the gulf of starryloch, and there are many directions to go from isembard, not just two like stepford Central

If they ever want to extend the map, they should do what PTFS has done, I'm pretty sure everything's half the size of normal roblox scale.

My theory is that it dont curve off west Benton and skip Benton because waterline's hub is benton but I think it will be before CSP and after BTN so you can go via CSP or skip CSP (then you rejoin if your going to JS or CNY)
There are 4 terminus stations next to each other (LSR, Leighton City and West, and Edgemead)
LSR barely counts since AL needs expansion to LC anyway, west is technically a separate branch and Edge-mead is over a mile away from Leighton but i do get your point

Also no, AirLink does not need to be extended to LC. It is fine in LSR anyway, you can take a Connect from LC to LSR.

@@Farleigh1050 It is mostly a through station but it does have a buffer, although terminal stations don’t define having buffers. They are usually considered the final destination for some routes.

I agree with this, JSE could be only one stop because of the limitations and yes, it needs alot of optimizations

Hey Dweller just came back after being down the west coast main line all day but I didn't ride it I just filmed it and started posting since I've came off the Victoria Line and I also went on the Jubilee and Metropolitan Lines
possibly, farleigh is in between WB and Benton, pushing WB back creating a new interchange to stop express from being held back by waterline
I think the Devs need to really work hard on lag fixes and then in a year or so begin slowly expanding. Addition of scenery and occasional stations and they need to fully upgrade the whole map to make the game look as good as it can.
I cant wait to atualy see the update and bet on our theory's so hopefully 1.10 would be good

I have a AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor, 16 Gigabytes of Ram, and a Gtx 1080 Ti Founders edition. I get about over 100+ fps with maxed out graphics, overall I can run the game very easily and smoothly with no stutters. But I do happen to drop the 30 - 40 fps when I move the camera to a certain point of view. I'm not sure if this is normal, or the game is just buggy. I did also overclock my CPU and GPU so that might've helped me just a little bit. Overall the developers of SCR did a fantastic job on their game.
this happens to me too, especially around SC. Absolutely hate it. SC also needs a full revamp because that station is so ugly

Maybe the "Estherfield" is Connolly, and Farleigh is that station beyond James Street
But Farliegh isn't a full terminus which means there is a station after it.

I am thinking maybe the waterline will have split extension one branch heading to the new station what's it is going to be called via Farleigh and one branch heading to lsr or sac this is opinion anyways 🤔
my first theory after seeing this video would be farleigh was a station in-between airport west and central/parkway on waterline
i think farliegh is a benton bypass to relieve traffic from benton

I think that Farleigh is before James street and/or maybe that terminating station is James street. Maybe the station beyond James street is in a different update. Maybe Farleigh isn’t a terminating station

I just came up with a theory, what if it is inbetween James Street and the Esterfield/Unknown Station but it just has 2 platforms for 1 direction and the other platforms cant be seen due to the wall, so its not a terminating station

Well I’m right that it’s both a terminus and thru station, but it only has 2 platforms 1 is bidirectional and the other is 1 way only

My theory
T2 Might not actually be a Terminating station, and it might just stay as a Heathrow-loop like design, as in that sneak peak, there isn't really a clear shot of buffers (as there is in the end station.)
Farleigh may be a loop to the north of Benton, going left after Cam St Parkway, and linking back up to the south of Faraday Road or sommin; or it could be a single-station branch that they'll dump Newry Harbour trains down, or possibly both!
Ahh, these speculations... He just said it will not be on the branch to Esterfield. And now, we have Farleigh there.
Looks like someone made a mistake...

No, that's not exactly certain though, there doesn't seem to be any markers near the train towards Newry Harbour, so ye. (One possibility could be that Farleigh could be a through station that only sees one-way services, maybe as a potential new route (or 2 new routes) that would begin and end at Newry Harbour and maybe also Newry, while only going to Benton one way then looping back to Faraday Road via the Port Benton loop and passing through Farleigh along the way, and who knows, maybe Coxly Newton could be reopened as a waterline station for the Farleigh trains to call at before joining back on the remainder of Waterline on Faraday Road, maybe even using the rarely used platform 3 before heading back to Newry, not to mention that we might have already seen Coxly Newton in a sneak peek but prob didn't recognize it as such)

The best thing that can happen to SCR is that roblox offers to load the games on its servers and transfer the data to the player. This way we would gain a lot of margin, and the network expansions could continue

I think if Farleigh is an extention, it will be near Benton or even a Benton Extention but it will make the Benton area conjested , so I think it could be a Connolly or CSP Extention
This update is based off the Airport zone and connolly doesn't fall under airport zone, it can't be possible that it will be a extension near connolly. However the tables might turn..

im lucky to have an 8th gen i5 laptop. not the most powerful but id say probably the best bang for buck for gaming, despite the integrated graphics...

Well I trespassed a little bit and on the current version the tracks beyond js seem to continue all the way to lsr and then curve to the left and then vanish on the hills

@@TransportofPerth I basically turned the graphics at max. Anyways I didn't walk on the tracks, I did walk from JS to US then followed the tracks until they disappeared on the hills at LSR
