Thank you, Anna! So glad I found you on CZcams. You do a fine job explaining how to use the machine.

Thank you for this. Am I correct in saying you cannot position the needle to the right (when it's facing you), only central or to the left (A and B)? I found this rather strange for example when I was doing the understitching I wanted to use the 'stitch in the ditch' foot to help me, and have the stitches a fraction to the right on the yoke. I wasn't able to do this without turning the whole garment round and having the yoke on the left which was very difficult.

You’re right, you can only move the needle to the left and back to the centre with this machine. In this video, Anna uses the Janome branded Stitch in the Ditch foot and the needle needs to be in the central position when using this foot.

@@SewingStudio Thank you for your reply. She says in the video she's using the presser foot (when not doing the buttonholes). But if you're using the Stitch in the Ditch foot with the needle in the central position how can you do understitching with a yoke or facing on the right?

Anna says that typically, when under stitching a yoke with this machine she would use the standard foot with the needle in the central position and line the seam up with a part of the left of the foot to achieve a consistent distance from the seam. We hope that helps!
