*Had to restart a couple of times before winning this stage.* ALWAYS choose defensive “tactics” for heroes to decrease damage and to increase MDEF/DEF. Prioritorise those over weapons and skills. Your troops must survive the boss’ minions and his AoE blasts. After that, the boss is killed easily. Also, having Cavalry is not necessary. I won with no such units at all. But you need to comply with the bigger team tactics that requires a Daemon, Infantry, Cavalry or Assasin - at least three of those should be in the team.
I'm not sure how the mechanics works exactly, but mimicing your video helped me beat it. Thanks!

For some reason, I am on turn 5, but yet to attack the dragon, I am only busy killing minions.

Though I do not have any of my heroes I got high-starred to synchronise them, so it might not help anyway.
