  • In this video, Alex shows us 10 quiz positions on the dilemma on whether to make the 5 or the 20pt. He mentions some of the rationale behind these decisions, and also goes into work he's doing on XG dice distribution heat maps to deepen our knowledge further of the right and wrong plays.

I think it's just a pdf. If you contact him on Facebook, I'm sure he will advise on where to get this. I will send you the other documents mentioned.

I like the little guidelines you get eg potential fly shots, unstacking etc but I'm struggling with how useful the heat charts were. After all, they are a confirmation as to why any selected move is better or worse. They do not help you to solve the problem of 5 v 20 because, of course, you don't have access to this during a match.

Good point. I think it's useful more in post-match analysis where you can scrutinise the descending plays, and determine the rationale. It's a way of honing your way of thinking over the board.

    Criteria 2
Which point is harder to make?
The answer will always be the 20point.
There are more ways/options to make the 5point

Really liked this video. At 30:30 when Alex talks about diversifying your DVDs, he means the difference between having a checker on the 14 versus the 15, not the 14 versus the 10. Also, as mentioned in the video can you put a link to the other quiz problems please. Btw, I don't have access to Facebook, I refuse to have anything to do with it.

I am trying to attach the PDF files but not working. I am happy to send to your email. I have passed on your comments to Alex. He wrote, 'I should have said 15 point or opponent's 10 point (which is your 15 point)'
